RE: coleman question- switch inside door

Can anybody tell me what the switch just inside the screen door, to the left, over the fire extinguisher is for ? It is driving me nuts not being able to figure out what it controls and the dealer is closed until Monday so I can t ask them. I don t see it mentioned in the manual.

farmerDon t have one there on mine. Does your outside light have a switch on it? If not, that may be what the switch is for. On my Sea Pine, if the trailer is hooked the the TV, the outside light will work if turned " on" . You may try that. Good luck and happy camping.

farmerOn the 03 s it turns on a light at the stepper door. It s not very noticeable until it s dark.

My sis just brought home her new 03 Cheyanne last weekend!

farmerMy 95 Avalon has that switch also and it is for the light in the stepper door. If you look way to the back when the step is open, up on the top under the trailer there is a yellow light that looks like a clearance light on a trailer. That is what the switch turns on. If you haven t tried it after dark, check it out the next time you have it open after dark. If it doesn t light a light under the trailer in the stepper door maybe the bulb is burned out in the light.

Exactly what rccs said- it s a little light that shines on the stepper door when it s open. Seems to be a feature they have decided to bring back this year. Our 2002 does not have one.

farmerHad to call the dealer about mine when I was camping. It is for the stepper door light. You can not see it in the day light. Only at night. Good Luck
