CamperJonesmy prayers are with your mom.  One thing you can do, is find out if she has any unresovled issues and then help her get some if not all resolved...its an important thing.

 CamperJonesLinda,

Your post touches my heart. I just lost my Mother 3-16-03 after 6 months of struggle, being on the vent, getting strong and coming off the vent, infection after infection. It was the most distressing and painful 6 months of my life, but I did what I could to make my Mother more comfortable, and let her know how much I loved her. Sometimes I would bring in photo albums and talk about memories, or tell her all about our camping plans, or new recipes I may have tried. I think she liked the fact that I tried to keep it normal, and even though she was in the hospital, I made a point of keeping her posted on life at home, and kept her involved. My Mother was more worried about me, how I would deal with the decisions she had made, would I be able to cope, and be strong enough to uphold her wishes. I think in her heart she knew the final outcome, but just wasn t ready to say goodbye. Spend time with your Mother, enjoy every second, don t be afraid to laugh, or cry. Your family will be in my prayers. Best wishes....

 CamperJonesLinda,
I was in your shoes a year ago, my mom was my rock when i went thru chemo, seven years ago, she laugh and cried with me, my dad didn t know who used more tissues ! six years later it was her turn when my mom came down with cancer and  it was my turn to be with her, she beat the cancer we both did, but i lost her to liver diease and heart failure the following fall, it was a long and hard road, but well worth the bumps for in the end she knew she did her job well, and that her children will carry on in her image.

dee106You have my prayers, too.  Know that all your camping buddies are thinking of you and lending our support in any way we can.  God bless.

 dee106Hi everyone!
The power of prayer is awesome as Mom is now off the Vent and out of ICU!  She is a miracle according to her doctors and we are so excited to have her getting stronger each and every day!  She is still very weak but after what she has been through it will be a while before she is back to the place she was at before her " sudden death"  event.  However, she has the most beautiful smile that warms my heart every time I see it and I do not take for granted that is a gift from above!  Keep those prayers coming as He is listening and our family is so thankful for such wonderful folks that care enough to pray for her and us.  Tell everyone that you love how much they mean to you and keep telling them because we never know what tomorrow may bring but you have NOW to let them know.
 Hugs to everyone, Linda
