Can anyone tell me what model this is?  I am told it is 19 ft and is an 83 jayco as you can see in the auction.  Also anything you know about it as far as problems, features it might have, weight, anything.  thanks

 Happy camping.

Turn KeyWith the dual axles, I believe it is a 14 foot box, similar to the one on PUT s home page.
The 19 foot is the length closed, which is what our popup is and 25 feet long when open.

av8tinIt s the 14 foot model which used to be called the Cardinal. Notice that the interior has been stripped and there s sag in the roof. It says the winning bid was $285. If the tires/wheels/brakes are good it s worth just about that.

They still make this one. It s called the 14SO if I remember right.  You can see pics of what the interior should look like on the Jayco site. http://www.jaycorv.com/

 mike4947Mike4947,

Any tips on how to get the top up to work on it.  I figured I would just try to use 2 by 4s on each corner.  Should I attempt this by getting inside the trailer with a couple of people or on the outside?  Is there any remedy for the sag in the roof other than replacing the whole thing?  Any idea what kind of lifting system it has on it?  I was the winning bid on this and am planning on attempting to fix and restore it.  Thanks for any help and advice on this as I have never so much as stepped in a pop up before.

av8tinDoes Jayco still make a dual axle trailer?  Their site is somewhat worthless for this info, they don t even have pictures of all the various models.

av8tinI wish you a lot of luck getting this the way that you want it.  It looks like it will be a fun project!  Post pictures of during and after.

av8tinAv8tin, Congratulations on your purchase!  Interesting place for the A/C - don t think I ve ever seen that.  Have fun with your fixer-upper!

av8tinJayco makes the 14SO which is a 14  box with a large slideout and dual axels.

Gamecock Camper

av8tinYep.  It looks alot like the Jayco 14SO.  They do still make this dual axle camper.  I think that for $285 or so that you did ok.  I wonder if the AC mount is from the factory or if it was added on.  A friend of mine mounted a home AC exactly like that on an old 1984 Coleman.  It was safer for him to do this on the back of the camper than to the roof.  It was much cheaper too.  Good luck with your project.  I know what you ll be doing the next few weeks or months.  It sounds fun.
