I know we topped 103øF (39øC) in Pahrump, NV in the summer of  01.  May have been higher in Victorville, CA, but I didn t record it.

What s your hottest (outside temperature) day in the pop-up?

AustinBostonWe camped in Williamsburg, Va. about 6 years ago and it was 103 in the shade. It was so hot the pool water was green with algae. DD got double ear infections from the pool water. We had no A/C and the week had to be cut short to take her home to the doctor! Next year we bought the new pop-up with A/C!

AustinBostonA couple of years ago we popped up when heat records in Texas were being broken.  We camped in 113 degrees.  We had solar blankets on the bunks which helped the AC, but with such high temps and everybody running their AC s the transformer blew.  Thank goodness the San Marcos river ran through the park.  It was the most popular spot of the day!

OC Campers

AustinBostonLast Labor Day we were camping near Irvine California (Southern Calif.) and it was 102 in the shade with no moving air.  It was so horrible we packed up and went home.  Even with breathable canvas bunk ends there was nothing breathing in that heat.

We are now thinking about putting an air conditioner on.  Never thought we would need one but it may happen.

AustinBostonCouple years ago at Lake Nacimiento, near Paso Robles, Ca. It was 108ø in the shade, with no hook-ups, and no A/C. [:o]

I ve worked in a brown truck in 117ø, does that count? [: (] When it gets that hot, you ve GOTTA drink lots of fluids, and watch out for heat stroke. (True story: I hung a thermometer in the back of the truck one day when it was over 110ø outside. I never did find out how hot it was *inside* the truck, cuz the thermometer only went to 140ø, and it was topped out.)
