Turn Key

Well, we did it this morning.  Signed over the S-10 to the dealer and picked up our new TV at the same time (see signature line).  Sure do love the new truck but felt a bit melancholy about trading the S-10.  It was a great little truck for us and took us all over Texas and this part of the country with never a falter.  Hoping we get the same service out of the Silverado.  DW said there would be no problem keeping both but I can t see it.  We don t need two trucks by any means and I don t have the time to care for two the way I d want to.

New truck drives and handles great.  Am looking forward to towing the PU and not having to worry about how much power I have.  Truck has all kinds of great features that the S-10 didn t and they sure make driving more enjoyable.  DW thinks the turn signals on the outside mirrors are the slickest thing since sliced bread!  I like the automatic and the cruise control.  My last three vehicles had neither (Jeeze!  It just dawned on me that it s been 25 years since I had a car or truck with an automatic trans!  No wonder I kept wanting to " shift"  the new truck[&:]).  Also have power trailering mirrors and I know I ll like them.

Well, hope you all don t mind me rattling on.  Just wanted to share the fun a bit.  Happy Camping!

 Turn KeyCongrats, Turnkey!

I still drive our  93 S-10, and we used to tow with it when we had our first camper, a Jayco 8U that was only 1070 pounds dry.  The S-10 is a manual transmission, and when I get into Patty s car, I still sometimes reach down for that extra stick between the seats or I kick out where the extra pedal should be on the floor!
