This subject may have been brought up before but I can t find it.

The velcro on the outside of my Mesa has come loose...lost its adhesive strength.  Around the door and at all four corners where the tent fabric meets aluminum.  I thought about using pop rivets to put it back on but don t like the idea of drilling any holes.  Can it be re-glued or does it just get replaced every so often?

And by the way THANKS.  You guys and gals on this bulletin board have saved me more time and money just by me lurking around at all the posts.[;)]

 Catonsville CamperIt all comes loose.

Couple of suggestions from this and other boards-

Replace with industrial strength Velcro (better adhesive, I guess).
See if your dealer will give you some (ours did).
Glue, screw, or pop-rivet it down.

If you don t want to drill holes, then you have to either use a double sided tape, an adhesive, or new velcro.

I ve used contact cement with good success, but epoxy, Pliobond, Goop, and about half a dozen other things have been suggested.  Quite honestly?  Most of it I have ignored being loose, and it is still sort of on the camper.

Catonsville CamperVelcro glue is the best thing I have found for reattaching loose velcro.  Craft stores seem to be the type of stores to sell it.

CAPEd CODger

Catonsville CamperMy Cape Cod has the ends of the velcro pop-riveted to the side walls. It still gets loose elsewhere. I am looking into adding a couple extra rivets or putting on some snaps. Seems like there are plenty of adhesives out there to choose from. Choose wisely.
Best of luck, and happy camping.

Catonsville CamperThanks for the tips.  I saw a brand new Coleman Carmel this weekend on my first trip out this year.  The velcro was a bit different.  I may ask my dealer if they have it and try that.  It looked like industrial strength velcro and not the thin stuff thats on mine.
