Okay... I m tooooooo excited... I m going to get a transmission cooler tonight and the delivery of our Niagara tomorrow.  Turns out they already sold us a sway control bar (Draw Tight?) so I guess I don t need that mini Reese 350.

 Question...

I m going to head out on Friday with the kids for our first experience.  I want to go somewhere within a 2-3 hour radious of San Jose.  I also want it to be kinda private (don t want it to feel like a cramped KOA) but nothing close to Deliverance.  Where would you suggest we go?

 thanks a bunch!

 duanefamilyduanefamily,
Don t rule out the Reese mini 350 yet. With the Niagara, you have to really load up the front storage trunk to get enough weight on the tongue. With this much weight on the tongue you will most likely want the WD hitch especially since your TV is front wheel drive.

Santa Clara County has some parks..Mount Madonna is probably the best, but the drive can be a little dicey for your first time out.. You realy want a partial hook-up the first time out.

That is great news.  Why don t you try Costanoa?   www.costanoa.com.  They have hookups.  They re a little pricey, but it s private and normally not crowded at all.

I still stand behind my favorite campground, Lake Chabot, even though it s been villified by Sactocampers.  At this late date, they might have run out of the RV hookups, but it s worth a try.  It s a county park and the fees are reasonable.

If the hookups aren t a requirement at this point, you can always try New Brighton State Beach, Mt. Diablo State Park, Half Moon Bay State Beach or Butano State Park, or Memorial Park in San Mateo County.
