DW and I just spent 10 days down at Key West (yes I know life is hard but someone had to try to drink all that beer) and on the drive back to Miami I wanted to stop at Bahia Honda SP to get some digital pictures to post.  I thought this would be a good idea since you read all about how cool this park is and what a great destination, etc.

When we pulled up to the gate we asked we could just spend 5-10 minutes just driving though to check it out.  We were told that we would have to pay $2 per person in the car (there were 4 of us).  We explained we weren t going to be there more than 10 minutes but they were adamant about no entry without paying the fee so we left.  Hey Florida!  Where s the southern hospitality?

So... sorry there are no pictures but if you ever get to Key West be sure to go to the Schooner Wharf Bar.  Pet the dogs.

TrlrboyI d have had the other 3 wait right there at the ranger station, given the guy his two bucks, and gone in to take the pictures! But I don t blame you one bit for not paying up the fee for each of the passengers.

I needed to take some picks at Newport News Park last month, and they just wrote me out a pass and said " Here ya go"  and never charged me the visitor fee s...

I guess a State Agency can be about as fickle as the Fed s!!![:o]

TrlrboyGeorgia SP rangers let DH and I wander all through several of their parks to check out camp sites.  Couldn t have been nicer.  We were also allowed to wander through St. George SP in Florida without paying.  Maybe the ranger was having a bad hair day or something.  Of course, it also helps to look pathetic and DH says I am a master at that [:D].
