Has anyone noticed that if it was not for about 10 of us this place would go to sleep lately. I guess everyone is out CAMPING. We should see some good CG reviews soon.

birol

whitestar505That is only because I am not posting anymore ...

By the way, I was looking for a PU on eBay (as if we could afford one) and found this :

It is cute, I mean the PU [8D][8D][8D]

 Can I ask why?

birol

 whitestar505Sure you can ask :).

I felt that out of boredom I was posting way too much and people did not like it. Usually when I posted to a thread, nobody would post a reply and the thread would die, so I got a hint :)

ForestCreature

whitestar505This is the same question, just not as long asked by Bearbait some time back.
It got made light of for the most part, which lead to both his and Elisas absence.

We all knew the board would be slower going into this subscription thing, but come on!
This is bordering on being dead. Hope to see people start waking up and making the board what it is capable of being. (including myself)

Birol , you keep posting. Threads have a life and death of their own, I ve seen many I post to die too. Who knows maybe since we both posted to this it will die [;)]

whitestar505

 birolHey birol,

My threads die too. I have some on the campground reviews that get nothing. Maybe I have not been here long enough to see what is happening. Do you think you maybe taking it to personal. Or did someone open their big wide moXXXX?

I am not sure what you mean by slower, less partakers? Slower internet ???

Jeffrey

whitestar505It s not Birol, his stuff was the only reason to even read.

There just isn t enough new campers to keep things moving along.
We ve been making excuses, for 5 months. This is it, I don t think it will get busier.

I ve said everything I have to say so many times, I m tired of typing it.

And any new questions, now can be handled by the experts.
So there is no reason for the rest of us to say anything.
Why answer when you know someone will come along with a copy/paste. With a better, and longer answer. Or else a link to a webpage with all the answers.
It doesnt make sense for anyone else to even try, might as well let the pro s handle it.

IMO It s just a matter of time..... Personally my PU message board days are numbered. (About 10 months I think?) I don t read or post anyplace else anymore, and don t plan on it.

I keep checking here way too much, I think it would be less frustrating. If I paid another $30.00 to kick me out. Then I wouldn t be tempted to look all the time. (<<<Joke)

It s about time I got my life back anyway!
Now if I could only remember where I left my PU?[&:] LOL

birol

whitestar505It was the constant flow of new campers and their questions which kept the place alive for the most part. Newbies like me were tryint to help and learn, more experienced ones were pitching in when needed.

 The balance has changed ....

Nope, nobody opened their mouth ....

I just thought maybe I am anuisance and kept quiet for a little bit, did not post much.

To be honest I am reading PUX a lot these days ..... PUT just doesn t cut it anymore, too few new posts. We should be able to talk abotu anything in firesidechat ... not only camping ....

Oh well , I am still here .... still posting ... arranged to get a hitch for the windstar (right wynot ?), need to buy a tire for windstar (right front went flat and not repairable ...... I suspected that would happen, the sided of all four tires looked weak/cracked ..... time to visit the junk yard ....

 so that s all ....

YEP, that is it

Turn Key

whitestar505Must agree with a lot that has been said.  I ve seen a number of threads die and wonder why.  Use to post some long responces but don t do it much any more.  About all I spend much time on is the reviews I write and I m not sure how they are taken.  Jennifer is the about the only one that has given me much feedback.  I m not looking for a " pat on the back" .  Would just like to know if my stuff is being read.  If you like what you read, just give it a " thumbs-up"  responce.  If it s long and boring, let me know and I ll change or stop.

 End " rant"  here[&:].

 Have a nice day[:D].

 whitestar505From our point of view-

the winter just got done about 2 weeks ago here. Our first trip is this weekend and the camper has been in the shop for warranty work. So there s not much going on here.

We re going to 5 new campgrounds this season and I will post reviews of them all in the northeast campground review section.

Otherwise, I personally don t have much to offer at this point in time. Maybe lots of people are out camping, which is great, because that s what we like to do. I haven t found much interesting content on any of the sites myself, when I CAN get into other sites, that is.

It easier for me to keep up with threads when it s like this! (just a different outlook-don t throw anything at me!)

Birol - I thought I was the post killer!  The same happens with me, probably happens with a lot of folks.  Keep posting though - if you don t ask questions then you really won t get answers.  As for the fireside chat, I often find we re talking about our pets, kids and families more than camping these days.

 whitestar505,

I think jeffrey is right about posting so much, you get tired of reposting the same stuff.  There are many times when I read a post but just don t respond even when I could.  Plus after awhile you run out of things to say which is why newcomers are so important to keep things sparking.   I remember some posts last summer that mentioned the same thing about being tired of rehashing info all the time, and that was with all the questions of newcomers (like I was then).  Not this gives any answers though.

I am on here daily. It makes me sit for a little so I am not doing housework or doing yard work or entertaining the kids all day(they need to do it themselves sometimes you know!), and it makes me make time for myself.  But as the weather keeps getting better I probably be will be on less and less.  After all, the call of nature and love of outdoors is why we got the pop up.

Marcy - I think we lost more than just bearbait and nightowl over all that happened.  It is a shame they both don t start posting again, along with others.  Their contributions were always good to read.

whitestar505Heck, I thought it was me.  It seems like anything I post to drys up immediately.  What we see happening is what we all feared with the paid site.  not enough new blood to keep things moving.  Yes it does seem as if PUX is more active than this board, but it is no where near where PUT was at this time a year ago.  I attribute that to two things.  One there is no longer one source for information on PU camping.  The information pool has been diluted with PUT, PUX, IRV2 and others.  Secondly I think this has been a lot like the CB radio craze of the seventies and has run it course.  Not PU camping, it is still very popular, though I would not be unhappy if some folks lost interest in that also so the campgrounds would not be so crowded.  But personally I do not get near as many persoanal e-mails as I did a year or two ago, and i think the newness has worn off of message boards also.  I do believe if we persist there will always be a need for this kind of service, but it may not be as crowded as it was last year.
