PapasoDon t worry Campntime... I ll kill it for you....

Funny the way this post has been travelling down the road of " the poor me s" .  And to think we still try to compare ourselves to other Camping Forums.

For me, it never really mattered how many (more) posts we made than some other group.  What counts is the community atmosphere we each generate and continue to support by being members.  (Insert group hug here)  [:)]

There have been many friends in our community who left, or have moved on to different interests (although I can t think of any interest better than this one), when we became a pay site, but that is behind us now.

 We ARE what we are!

So.... if you find the posting traffic is a little too slow.... GET OFF THE FENCE AND START POSTING!

Ok... that should have sufficently killed this one.  Campntime... you re off the hook!

CampingSmiths

whitestar505Don t go away!  I have been " lurking"  since July.  I check this message board out about once a week and print out information for my DH.  (or to show him things that we just have to have!)

 This is my first post.

CampingSmithsPatricia, let me the first to WELCOME you to the forum!!!  Now that you ve got your feet wet, so to speak, grab that extra folding chair over there (no, not that one, my kids dropped a flaming marshmellow on it, and the seat s a bit sticky), have a cup of warm cocoa or mug of cold brewski (your choice), and join in the fun!

Gamecock Camper

CadeusesAgreed.  Join the fun and feel welcome to add to the conversation.....

Not you Cadeuses, Where have you been lately? Camping that is.

CadeusesOnce again we are pleasantly suprised by the candor, and the fellowship of the people on this board.   We have posted very little and like everyone else....thought we had been the thread killer.

After all, we initially thought, what could we possibly have to offer.....but we have since been welcomed, and sometimes teased, and sometimes we laugh with strangers, who in many ways know more about us then most of the people we see everyday.  We check the board several times a day and have learned alot , laughed alot and have been amazed.

As our good friend says, " these are the good ol  days."   Sure the board was different before and it will continue to change and flex and grow.  We do believe it will grow.  And considering ourselves as newbies, we will continue to sit here with our bunny slippers, (DH has those big reindeer kind with antlers...won t let him take them in the PU during deer season[;)] )and drink that cocoa that has been mentioned...As we all told our families after September 11th...its going to be allright.

Will someone add another log to the fire as it begins to die down?   G night....and thank you all for being there!

Oh yeah!!! Birol!. [:D][:D] You don t have to meet someone in person to know you are appreciated!  (Luv your humor!!!!)

 Hi Whitestar 505;

We haven t gone out camping this year as yet.  We have our first booking on the 6th of June at a little campground called Falls Lake.

 http://www.fallslake.ca/camping.asp

Its a quaint little place, secluded and definetly off the beaten path, but often full.  I ll be staying at site 11 on the map.

Are you and yours still coming down this way this summer?

whitestar505

 CadeusesCadeuses ,

" " " Are you and yours still coming down this way this summer?" " " "

The answer to your question is yes! We will be working our way DOWN the east coast sometime in July. New plans are in the mill for going to upstate NY, then over to Vermont up to Maine and accross into your neck of the woods. We are hoping this time to make it to PEI for two or three days. Then take the ferry (CAT) to Bar Harbor Maine on the way home. We have almost four weeks to do this trip in, so hoping we can do it all. [:)] Are you going to be at home,,, or out camping?

This is almost like going to Calf. hum.....

Falls Lake looks great! How far from home is it? Do you go there in the winter? [;)]

Well unfortunately I won t be at home... but I will be camping... sort of...  As an RN in the military, I have been tasked with command and control of the medical facility at the summer cadet camp in Gagetown, New Brunswick from the 24th of June til the 22nd of August.  In other words I will be working the whole summer... no breaks... away from home and family.  [&:][:o][>:]

I will be taking " jiffypop" with me, and the DW and kids will come up and visit with me there once or maybe twice.  I only expect to have the very " odd"  weekend off from work, as this is the largest cadet camp in Canada.

" How far is Falls Lake away from my home?"   About 45 minutes travel at 80 Km/hr (50 mph).  It s a military run campground open to regular and reserve military personnel both active and retired, as well as Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Foreign Military (NATO), and Legion members.

Yes I have stayed there in the winter, but not in the PU.  Instead we rented the cabins on site.  Its  a very pretty place in the winter too.

I was hoping to see some of you passing through Nova Scotia this summer, but now it looks like I will miss you all.  Oh well.... three more years and I can retire and travel myself.  I will retire on the 15th of Dec 2006, and we plan on doing the Florida Disney thing for that years Christmas.  I can hardly wait.

OMG.... have I ever hijacked this thread.... Sorry about that.  [8D]

Birol its hard to be a Yankee when you live in Halifax...  although we do have many from the States on " Duty"  here.  As I said in the previous post, I will be at the Cadet Camp in Gagetown.... Its called Argonaut, an Army Cadet Camp.  And I really didn t intend to hijack the thread.... I think Whitestar505 made me do it!  [:D][8D]
