Boy am I glad we have a pop-up!

DH Terry, flush from the success of replacing seals on the leaky toilet, decided to install a new kitchen faucet last night.  This is not a job to do on a weeknight, but I am not one to discourage any home improvement projects.

He started at 7:30 p.m.  At 9:30 he was still trying to remove the old faucet.  At 10:30 he announced that the hot and cold water feed lines would not reach the new faucet and he would have to wait until tonight to finish the job since everything was closed.

He capped the too-short feed lines and turned the water to the house back on. But the capped lines were spraying water, so he had to cut off the water suppy to the house again.  While doing that he accidentally knocked over a long-forgotten glass bottle of malathion pesticide.  The malathion went everywhere and the odor was horrendous.

By this time it was almost midnight.  Fortunately the pop-up was open in the yard so I went outside and set up the shower enclosure and had a cold shower with the hose and the dogs and I slept in the camper.  Since we have no water inside, the porta potty came in handy too.

Once again, the pop-up comes to the rescue.

wssfetchSue that sounds like something my DH would do.  We used the camper once when our main sewage line going out of the house became plugged.  Some one (DH) knocked a pair of tweezers into the toilet and flushed them.  They got caught in the line and TP built up on them blocking our sewer line.[:@]

wssfetchThis is SUCH a great post.  I ve never really thought about using our camper that way, but we certainly do have a " back-up house"  in our camper -- with ALL the functionality of our home!  SO COOL!  [8D]

wssfetchAlso comes in handy as a guest house for out of town relatives or friends.  We also take " Jiffy"  up to my mother in laws and spend the night up there in it(just hook it up to her water and a regular plug in for lights). It a way to make sure that the bed you sleep in is comfortable.

wssfetchHe finally got the faucet finished on SUNDAY afteroon.  What would I do without my handy pop-up?
