Hey all!  We made it home...  Thanks to all for a great weekend!  I hope everyone liked " my"  campground.  [&:][8D]  Can t wait for our next rally.

copcarguyLiked the campground, had a few " sweaty"  moments making it up and down the winding roads on the mountainside though [:)]

Beat the rain home and was able to unload in relative comfort and ease.

Nice trip for the maiden voyage -- all parts and pieces of the Cheyenne performed well.

copcarguyWell we finally made it home, through thunder storms, strong winds, tornado watch area.

First I want to thank Blaise (Kathybrj s Husband) and Kathy for allowing him to for fixing my lack of brakes on the trailer.  The worked all the way home and I needed them for the ride home.  We had strong winds and it was nice to be able to apply the brakes when needed.

Second, sorry your not first, I want to thank Rick for allowing us to invade " his"  campground.  It is beautiful there and we want to go back.

We had a great time and the food at the pot luck dinner was delicious.  The view from where the Catskill Mountain house stood was breath taking.

IT DID NOT RAIN WHILE WE WERE CAMPING, THE CURSE IS GONE.

 copcarguyAnyone want to trade pics???

 copcarguyBack!

Thanks to Rick for turning us on to " his"  campground. WE LOVE IT! Can t wait to get back there for a longer visit- the biking was great!

Thanks to everyone for the great food. It was wonderful to meet you all. Special thanks to Tracy for the awesome tee-shirts!

We took the long way home- checked out and then went to hike Ashley Falls. Then we went into Kingston and took a quick tour of the stockade area (we want to go back for a day trip sometime to look around more).

We hit very hard rain and thunderstorms from just north of Kingston all the way to Selkirk- 30 mph on the Thruway with flashers on. But the Utah towed great and we ended up home to no rain- just in time to unload.

So we re going to look into Hickory Run and see what we can do. I m keeping my fingers crossed! [:)]

Thanks to all for a super weekend! It was wayyyyy too short! [:(]

ps- Tracy- no problem on the brakes- glad to hear you had them all the way home, but Blaise told me to remind you to let your dealer have it!

copcarguyTracy, I can t believe we made it through the weekend without rain. I m SO glad I didn t miss this one. Just wish I could have been there the entire weekend. First we had great weather (80s) in Williamsburg and then a nice day in NY. Raindrops started just as Chris, Rick and I drove off. Perfect timing.

Since we re not used to going home so early (don t like that 11am checkout), we made a stop at Camper s Barn in Kingston, NY with Rick and Steph(ie)[;)]. Checked out the new models. Then back to the Thruway where Courtney and I ditched Chris & gang. We detoured to the Newburgh KOA. Have heard prices are really high so am waiting to hear about their extra charges (heard $5 per kid). If it doesn t break the bank, Rick, I d like to meet you there sometime because we liked it. Do you have a favorite site? We circled a few.

We then stopped at Ramapo College (NJ) since Courtney is considering taking a summer course there and has to make up her mind real soon. Kinda dreary since it was raining and we didn t get to see much.

As for our North-South experience, we loved what we saw and would like to do it again. Maybe next trip they ll have put hooks in the bathrooms. The lake was beautiful and I can see why Rick goes back year after year. We d definitely be interested in another get together there.

Well, thanks again to all. We loved our shirts. The food was great and so was the campfire Sat night. Sorry I pooped out early.

But I didn t get any pics of the pot luck dinner...[:(]

Did anyone get any pics of the group?

tlhdoc

copcarguyI posted some on the COTOC page and I can email others.  The pics are on the photo page and the club events page.  Some of them are Ricks.  I am upset that we didn t get a group shot of everyone.  We should have done that this morning.

SheBantam

copcarguyI am so jealous!! I have been sidelined since the Easter Trip to Newport News VA, afraid to eat much of anything...pot lucks are out...going to miss out Memorial Day Weekend also

HersheyGirl

copcarguyI am so glad that you all had a great time.  I was thinking about you and wishing I was there all weekend.  NO RAIN?  That is very cool.  Let s hope that contiunes.   How did Stephie do in the bathhouse?  I hope she didn t have any encounters.  LOL!  Glad everyone got home safe and sound.  Wish I could have been there.[8D][8D][8D]

copcarguyBeckie I am guessing you must be the rain magnet.[;)][:D]

HersheyGirl

copcarguyOh No Tracy!  What if that is it, I am the rain magnet.  We have camped every Memorial Day weekend for that last few years and it has always rained every day of the weekend. It also rains every Girl Scout Camperee. I just never thought that it could be anything else. I guess we will test it out.[8D][8D][8D]

copcarguyDon t jinx it Beckie. I ll have some unhappy (crabby) kids if it rains ALL weekend. They re hoping for a trip to Knoebels. Is there anything to do in that area in case it does rain all weekend? I m remembering our Hickory Run get together where it rained off and on all weekend. The kids still got to ride bikes and if I remember correctly, some of yours took a hike (and of course, we did boulder field). Just awful dreary.

copcarguyDi there are a couple of caves in the area; Penn s Cave and Woodward Cave.  Reptile Land isn t too far either.  I do know where the bowling allies are.

 copcarguyThanks Tracy,
I m looking forward to it. We should arrive Friday afternoon. Would have preferred coming Thursday evening but seems our 4th grade has standardized testing that Friday morning. Timing couldn t be worse. Oh well, at least we have Monday off.
