WatchmanI called around today pricing hitches for the Windstar. Even at U-haul, it will be about $270 complete. I do not think that there is any wiring on this model Windstar, the better models have the tow package. I have the almost basic package (which is super delux next to the F150 or the Corolla)

One trailer place told me that if I added a reese mini 350 the Windstar (3.8 liter engine) would pull up to 5000 lbs (that means I could pull the Bantam with the Winstar...NOT) . That sounds a little much to me. Whole set up hitch, electric and reese mini 350 would be about $500, bought there, together.

Wachman, thanks for starting ths conversation, looks like you are going to save me about $70.00.

WatchmanPaula the hitch may be capable to tow 5000 pounds, but the Windstar is not.  With the towing package Ford says 3500 pounds max.

WatchmanI had a Class III installed by Uhaul, but it was a Reese. I did the wiring, but I think it was about $160 out the door. I m glad they did it. My drills/power tools aren t big enough to drill into the frame of the truck. Love my Class III, which was a BD gift!
