 griffsmomWe re finally going camping!!!!!

We had the repaired panel installed last weekend in our camper.  You can t even tell where the window had ripped, and it zips up more easily than before it ripped--definitely a better-than-new repair!  And miracles of miracles, Dave has finally put 500 miles on the new tow vehicle and had a brake controller (the tekonsha prodigy) installed so we get to go camping!!!  Yea!!!!  [:D][:D]

I wanted to go some place beachy, but all the state parks were booked solid months ago.  I was thinking maybe Pismo or Jalama, but Dave wants to stick closer to home since we ll be towing with the Expy for the first time.  So it s back to the usual-yep, you guessed it, Vail Lakes.  [:)]  Heck, at this point, I just want to go!  The last time we camped was our mini-rally at VLR!!  That s almost 3 months w/o camping!!! [:o] There oughta be a law against such a long time between trips!!

Anyway, we ll be at VLR 8/22-24 at Upper Chardonnay if anyone would like to join us! [:)]

OC Campers

griffsmomHi Lori, so glad you got the trailer fixed.  I want to know, who buys a new car and lets it sit in the driveway?  I think when we bought our Odyssey in march it 500 miles on it the first week.[&:]   We were so excited to have a new car we drove it everywhere.  Well anyway glad to see you are back in on the camping curcuit.  We are headed out to Bridgeport this weekend for 9 days.  We haven t gone anywhere since Gold rush in June.  Way too long as far as I am concerned.  Would love to go to VLR with you but we will just be getting back the 17th from up North and we need a weekend to recover.  We bought one of those fireplaces just for VLR and have never used it.  It is still in the box in my livingroom.  It will probably stay there till the October rally.

griffsmomLori- Dave needs to get out more [;)][;)] I put 500 on the truck with in 2 weeks and that was just normal " mom is a Taxi"  stuff. we bought it in April and pushing 5000  [:o]  well now you can go camping!! Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeee[:D]

griffsmom

griffsmomHey everyone, I missed you!! [:)]

I was in Colorado Springs last week for a get-together of adoptive families who have adopted embryos through the program that I direct.  Everyone had a great time and we even got to tape a broadcast about the Snowflakes Program at Focus on the Family--and it s a two-parter to boot! It will air on Aug. 25 and 26 and if you go to Focus on the Family s Web site ( www.family.org ) you can find a station near you that broadcasts Focus  program if you care to hear it.  Here in So Cal, KKLA (99.5 FM) airs Focus on the Family. You can hear the program at 7:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. or 10:00 p.m.  They also did a news brief that you can hear through streaming audio here: http://www.oneplace.com/Ministries/Family_News_in_Focus/archives.asp?weekday=7  Be sure to click on the broadcast for Saturday, August 16, 2003 to hear the Snowflakes article.  It s the first 6 minutes of the broadcast.[:)]

My sad news is that Dave s boss asked him to go up to San Francisco for the next two weeks to help out one of their offices up there.  So our camping trip this weekend had to be scrapped.  [:(]  The way things are going, it looks like we may not get to go camping again until Trick-or-Treat in Temecula!!!  Waaa! [:o][:@][: (][>:][:(][&:]

Work has been particularly busy and since it s just Griffy and me at home for thenext couple of weeks, I may not be checking in too often, but I ll try to catch up with all the posts when I get some time.  Hope everyone is well and camping!![:D]

griffsmomDoes anyone else think we need to get a logo together?  Who devised NNC s logo?  It could be something analogous to that since we are brother and sister clubs, altho I m not sure who s the bro and who s the sis.

gsm x2

griffsmomWell, we need a FLIP in here, so FLIP

gsm x2No one s posted in this, our Main/General board, in nearly two months?  TOS, perhaps you didn t FLIP it correctly. [:D]

I ll go first.  Is it possible to be in love with an inanimate object?  That s how we feel about our trailer.  [:)]  And now that all the reasons we were grounded earlier this year are gone... so are we!!!  We are RVin  fools!   (Can t call what we do " camping" , not even by a longshot.)  [:D]

 Next?

gsm x2Yes one can love an inanimate object. We haven t been out since the first week of August and I am jonesing. We do have a one-night campout planned for this weekend at Cuyamaca with a few other families. Since we ll be dry camping with tenters this may resemble real " camping" !

I am already busy planning out different camping weekends for next year. I d absolutely love to take a week+ off and head to the sticks. We ve had our camper a year and never had her out for more than 4 nights at a time. We do plan on going to the Cachuma rally right after Christmas and our schedules allow us to keep an open calendar. I think my parents from Phoenix are planning on joining us there, and they keep hinting at how much they d like a pop up of their own (not that I can surprise them with one for Christmas but I wouldn t be surprised if they have one by then).

oldmooseIs anyone going to the big RV show in Pomona?  It runs through next Sunday.  We went, and happily came back loving our trailer even more.  We ll take it over the half million luxury coaches any day.  Don t like the dark colors of the 2004 models.

oldmoose

gsm x2We went to the show also. Only bought food. Some friends of ous bought a motor home that was low six figures. The only hard sided we liked was under $20K.
