Quote from: gardenmomof2I just wanted to post a short intro and say hi to you all. We are Christy and Guy and the 2 boys Landon and Ryland and the dog Sequoia from mission viejo. We just bought a pop up new to us in oct of last year and have been having a great time with it so far. I think we counted that we have been on about 6 trips with it so far. We love it to say the least. We try to camp with family and friends but have been out as just us lately and I found this tread on the board and it sounds like you all have great fun. I hope to meet some of you soon i will be looking at the upcoming events and checking our schedules.
Welcome GardenMom.  Thanks for dropping by and posting.  Keep an eye on the Boards and check out the Pismo rally.  So far there are still a few spaces left.  Maybe you'll get introduced to the group at the MegaRally...then look forward to a mini-rally in the near future.

Welcome to our popup camping group.  We do have a lot of fun together and look forward to meeting you and your family.  Another rally you might want to think about is our Trick or Treat 2 rally in Temecula.  There is a thread about it in this forum.  Vail Lake RV resort is a favorite place to go for the SC CAmpers.  Last year we had 17 families come to this rally.  Vail Lake does a really cool Halloween presentation.

Quite a few of us live in the Orange county area.  Another favorite spot of ours is San Mateo CG at San Onofre.  My family will be there the weekend of May 7 and Griffsmom will be there next weekend.

...hmmm, maybe we did meet...sort of.  I think that must have been Griffin that was so diligently ignoring his mom in favor of poking a big stick into a hole in the tree.  I was walking by with my 6yo son at the time.  I'll have to look into the Halloween weekend up at Vail Lake.  Thanks for the invite.

Quote from: griffsmomHi Tom, Caroline, and boys, and welcome to PUT and SCCampers! :W
I'm sorry that we missed you!!  Let's see...on Friday, we were riding bikes and swimming and doing the camping activity that you can never leave out...shopping for "amenities" at Wal-Mart! :D

I hope that you'll continue to visit the boards here and that you'll join us at our upcoming rallies!  We'll be back at  Vail Lake Resort in October (I'm wagonmistress) and there are still plenty of sites, but we sold out last year, so if you think you might want to go, it's better to sign up earlier rather than later.  In any event, we hope to be able to meet you and your family in the near future!

LOL!!  :J Yes, yes, I remember a man and young boy walking by as I was saying something like "Griffin, we don't poke sticks into trees; it hurts them" and then thinking "that man must think I'm nuts..." :eyecrazy:

It was a pleasure to "meet" you!  Hopefully, you can maek it to the Hallwoeen rally, and then you'll KNOW I'm nuts!!! ;)

Here's what I choose to think: maybe by getting this all out of their systems now, they'll be perfect angels in their teens.  (I'm either an optimist or stark raving  :screwy: )

;)
HEEEEE HEEE hAAAW hAAAAAW I too have had that fantasy..

Lori; I luv ya, but you are a little  :screwy:

HEE HEE

let me fill ya in: God has a wonderful sense of humor
they say its the terrible 2's so you think it can't be worse and you let them see their 3rd B-day. just when you think you've made it now it's the trying 3's then at about 4 everyday starts getting a little better. Then God tricks ya into thinking you've got a handle on this raising kids thing with several years of little aggravation: then he gives you a teenager!

I wish we could go camping but we have plans already  :(
I wanna go camping

Lori, the "north pole" has been rediscovered and is in hiding.

Guess we'll have to plan an expedition to find it.  I'll be sure to let Lil' Griffy know.  He's been asking about it. :D

Hey there, Scampers!  I think this is my first post here in 2 to 3 months, and am surprised I can still sign in.  Hope all is well with everyone.  We're fine here.  Went to Arizona (Grand Canyon and Sedona) last month, and spent 300 lovely dollars in gas!  We must have been close to some of you, as we spent a couple of days at the Wilderness Lakes resort in Menifee, near Riverside.  Wow, that's a great family/kid-oriented place, and it's a bummer that it's too far from us for a quick weekend trip.

We'll see you at Pismo next month.  :)   <--geez, forgot how to do smileys and had to look for the drop-down menu!

oldmoose

Glad to have you drop in Patricia. You're always welcome here. We'll look forward to seeing you next month.

Dear SBP---thanks for dropping in.  Wonderful to know that you are using the heck out of your camper.  Did you ever name it?

Yes, "No Way". Coulda sworn I'd posted that when we "brought the new baby home" last year. (Can you believe June will make it a full year???)

All I said -- and kept repeating over and over again -- while sitting in it for the first time was "no way, no way, no way..." in stunned disbelief because (a) after waiting for 5-6 weeks, we couldn't believe it was finally here, (b) that it was actually ours, and (c) that it was as beautiful inside as we'd hoped! Scared our sales guy, because he thought something was wrong with it. :D

We've already spent over a full month in it, and are about to add 2 more nights. Heading out for Acton/Canyon Country when Mike gets home from work this afternoon.

BTW, TOS, I don't remember the exact date, only that you're a Taurus, and we're in Taurus now, so Happy Birthday for whenever it is!  :cake:

:banghead:   <--I like the additional smileys! That's me trying to referee Rebec and Karen's squabblings. "It's mine!" "No, I got it first!" "No, Mom gave it to ME!" "Stop staring at me!" "No, YOU stop staring at ME!" (Lori, enjoy your one and only Griffy!)

SHE LIVES!!!!! :yikes: :-() :D

Welcome back Ha Ha sister!! I was thinking about you the other day and hoping that the reason why you dropped off the boards was because life was full of camping! Glad to hear that you are getting your money's worth out of "No Way"

I can't believe how big all of our children are getting, and I definitely am thankful for having only one monkey. You mothers of more than one kid have my undying respect and admiration!!!! Every once in a while, I dream about how nice it would be to have another child, if only so that Griffin would have someone else to play with. I sometimes get tired of being the sole director of entertainment. But we're definitely done.  I waited and prayed a long time for Griffin and fought very hard for him, so please know that I am NOT complaining! :)

Patricia,

I'm a cusp, so it was April 23.  Thanks.  Had a fine B-day and definitely beats the alternative.

Bad news: According to Heal the Bay, the 10 most polluted beaches, or "Beach Bummers," in California in 2003-04 were (in most polluted order):

  • 1 Doheny State, Orange County
  • 2 Campbell Cove State, Bodega Bay, Sonoma County
  • 3 Surfrider, Malibu
  • 4 Avalon, Catalina Island
  • 5 Pillar Point Harbor, San Mateo County
  • 6 Stillwater Cove, Monterey County
  • 7 Channel Islands Harbor, Ventura County
  • 8 Baby Beach, Orange County (this is in Dana Point Harbor)
  • 9 Cabrillo Beach, Los Angeles County
  • 10 Pacific Beach, San Diego County
As someone who grew up at the beach, it makes me sad.
