gsm x2This is sounding better all the time!

As much as the map can show, all the sites look good. We ll take a stab at this, and ask for Site #105.

 Thanks....

P.S. also sent to Jacqui via e-mail.

 Steve-o-budHollypop here-

Glad to hear there are more families joining in. More camping friends for our girls!

Hey everyone- we just got back from 4 nights at Yucaipa Regional Park. This is a terrific campground. My new favorite! Sites are huge and all paved (many are pull through s) and each site is about 50 to 100 yards from the nearest neighbor. It s amazing. They have a fun water park with two slides. We had a lot of fun. The site was $22/night for a full e/w/s site. Not bad! Felt like a private campground. I highly recommend it, and if it s available ask for site #18- it s unreal.

This park is somewhere east of San Bernardino, about 4 miles north of I-10. We tried our reflective blankets on the bunk ends this weekend. They made a big difference!

 Anyway- camp on!

Holly, this park sounds really nice.  We may have to try for a rally here some day in the not so far future.  Maybe in a cooler month?

 That was my thought too.

Holly, how hot was it there for you on your trip? We may be able to go camping in  a couple of weeks (if I can ever get Dave to drive the Expy and put the minimum # of miles on it before we re allowed to tow with it!!![:@]) and this park looked nice based on its Web site.

 Steve-o-budHollypop here-

Yucaipa Regional Park got into the low 90 s during the day and it was probably 67-72 at night. Warm enough at night to sleep with no heater, some screens open. We sure were glad we had the reflective blankets for the bunk ends. This was our first time using them and during the hottest part of the day we saw almost a 10 degree difference between indoors and outdoors. We also have two bunk fans which helped a lot. Our site had late afternoon shade and full morning sun. We took along one of our market umbrellas from our patio and that helped too.  Another nice thing is that each site is paved, with a big semi-circular concrete pad under your awning space, and two huge picnic tables on each site. The ants were very determined and very plentiful here.

There isn t a fire ring at each site, there are " communal"  ones scattered around. Actually it was kind of nice not to deal with a fire or firewood. Instead we sat outside and watched the stars and kind of cranked up the music. The next sites were so far away they couldn t hear us! We did several walk around sound-checks to be sure. Site 18- the best- does have its own fire ring off to the side. This would be an awesome place for a rally if we could swing it. I m ready to go back anytime if anyone wants to plan a quick trip on short notice.

We spent two days at the beach. It was $8 per person for swimming and waterslides. Then one day we drove 30 minutes away to Forest Falls and hiked up there with the kids, exploring the mountain area and the streams. It was very pretty and yes there was water there. If you go be sure to buy the $5 Forest Adventure Pass from the ranger to avoid a $100 fine.  Then we drove east on the 10 to the outlet mall in Cabazon!  Showers are free and facilities are very clean.

 Thumbs up all around!

Sounds like Dave is planning a buddy trip to Joshua Tree in September, so our next outing might not be until the Oct. rally. I bought some cute pumpkin tacky lights today so we ll be ready!

 OC CampersHi Jacqui,

Aack!!  I forgot to change my e-mail address in my PUT profile and I missed your e-mail.  [&:] Sorry!  I went back and read it and I ll get our check to you for our site fees.  Also, I ll e-mail you a copy of the confirmation letter I had put together so that you don t have to retype the whole thing.  It ll have the May rally info on it so you ll want to update it, but it should be easy to do through your word processing program.
