Steve-o-budHollypop:  Thanks for the Yucaipa info. we ve camped there many times in " group tent camping"  but not the RV section. I actually have a credit there. I know Nov. they have all the Apple orchard stuff, I m not sure if they do it several months.  all my camping is booked until 2004. we are camping Labor day @ Vail Lake,
No camping Sept. and attending all the rallies Oct-Dec. I ve only camped there in Nov. I may book for next June after the waterstuff is open. maybe a rally??

 Steve-o-budSCCampers;

I sent an email to gsmx2 and randy@flinders asking if we could join you folks at Vail Lakes, but here s a repeat:

I d like to sign our family up for the Vail Lakes trip.

There are four of us; Kristi, Jim, Melissa (2-1/2 years), and Jason (6 months).  We camp in a Chalet folding trailer.  Home is in Long Beach.

Site preference in order is 102, 103, 101, or 99.

For the potluck, we ve had good luck making BBQ tri-tip for dinner and french toast for breakfast.

Please let me know the procedure for payment.  The website wasn t clear whether we pay the club or the campground.

 Thanks,

 Jim White

 Jim s email is JimQPublic@hotmail.com
 Kristi s email is kkw34@hotmail.com

Scot and Randy, if you could also place JimQPublic in site 102.

Ok everyone, we have 2 sites remaining.  Site 99 and 101.  Any takers?  I don t know if I can get anymore after these are gone.  The campground books up for their Halloween weekends.

 OC CampersHey everyone!

Sorry to be away from you guys for so long!  As some of you know, we were on a two week pop-up road trip.  You can read all about it at our website, www.flindersfamily.com.  There is a photo gallery of our trip posted as well. ( http://community.webshots.com/album/84603078snIGvx )

Anyway, we got back last month, but then my little brother passed away, and I really wasn t in the mood to go online.  But, we are back now!

Thanks to Scott for updating the Halloween site in my absence.

I had a blast using my DO for the first time on our trip, and I think we are going to make the Stroganoff for the potluck.  Has anyone else decided what to make?  How about T-Shirts, should we get some of those as well?

Anyway. good to be back.  We are all looking forward to popuping with you guys - I wish it wasn t 2 months away!

OC CampersHey Randy, good to have you back with us.  So sorry to hear about your brother.  Hope all is ok with your family.

Haven t heard too much about the potluck and t-shirts.  I think Hollypop did the last ones and they turned out great.  Holly, are you up to it again?  I can t remember who volunteered to handle the potluck.  When I get a chance, I will go back thru the previous pages and find out.

I ll save you the trouble and the time--it was me.  I m still up to it.  I was thinking of a " do a DO"  potluck.  (For our newer members, just in case you re not familiar with them, a DO is a dutch oven--see Moose for details![:D]) I d also like to do a pumpkin carving for the kids.

Thanks to Lori and Jacqui for the kind words.  Losing a family member is always difficult, but we re haning in there!

Anyway, about the potluck, I think that " Do the DO"  had already been decided because that is what is up on the website.   I ll go ahead and put us down for the Stroganoff.  So, I encourage everyone to give some thoughts to the potlucks, both breakfast and dinner.

If we are planning a pumkin carving contest, we should decide on time to judge them and then we need to pick out some judges.  We ll need some prizes as well. Perhaps Saturday, 4pm?  That seems like a good time because about 4:30 everyone will be starting to fire up the DO s.  The kids can work on their pumpkins during the day Saturday.  I volunteer to be on the panel of jugdes.

So, who is up to creating the graphic for the t-shirts?

Wow, what a great looking truck.  Do you need a step ladder to get into that thing?  I sure wish we could unload our Astro.  Alas, it is paid for so no pymt is a good pymt.

I think do the DO was already established also.  Randy put us down for onion soup DO potatoes for dinner and biscuits and gravy for breakfast.  I think everyone enjoyed them the last time for breakfast.

Love the pumpkin carving idea.  We did that for Chris  last birthday campout   Make sure to bring candles too.  The pumpkins look so awesome lined up around the campsite.

When I came home with the truck, Kerry told me I have to start taking her when I go car shopping!  LOL!  It s not the easiest vehicle to get in and out of, but the NERF bars on sides help.  We had planned on keeping that Astro alot longer, but, alas, it was not to be.  Can t say I am sorry to see it go.

 OC CampersHey Randy,

Please put us down for tamale pie for Saturday evening potluck and fresh fruit for Saturday morning breakfast.  Dave s margaritas will also be offered if anyone wants some. [:)]
