I was out garage sailing yesterday, and came across a KitchenAid 5qt HD mixer
 for a whopping  15 dollars!! This is a gently used machine, looked almost new.
 My poor little Mixmaster just got retired....
 
 So what kind of goodies have you  all found at yard sales?

 I have bought a lot of cast iron cookware at estate sales over the years. Our most recent purchase was a wooden kitchen table and 6 chairs. My wife buys up old wedding dresses, she and her mother take them a part and use the lace and stuff to make wedding accessories, you know pillow, baskets, etc. Most of our household furniture came from estate/garage sales. Come to think of it we like the farm sales too[] My FIL and I have a fair sized equipment collection that came from there. Just bought a 1980 Dodge D-300 flatbed for $1500 it only has 54K miles on it.[8D] Needed a heavier truck for the farm.

 You will love the Kitchenaid mixer. I had to replace my mixmaster also, LOL, I had mine for 22 years before it just couldn t keep up with making bread dough. I still have it, in a box but I can t part with it yet. But I love the new Kitcehenaid. You got a smokin  deal. Congrats on the find.

Marcy, you ll really like the Kitchenaid mixer.  We have used ours often and it has never let us down with the power versus previous mixers........ I haven t done any garage sales in a while, but the thing I bought that I use the most is a CD player for the lakehouse stereo.  It doesn t have a remote, but it is in otherwise new condition....

 The poor little mixmaster just earned itself a spot in the attic, waiting for us to have a yard sale!
 Those old mixmasters just won t die, mine is still going strong at 27 yrs.
