I wish I could remember where I read about this, but has anyone done this or heard about this? To repair and stop roof leaks spraying the aluminum top of your pop up or RV with truck bed lining. Soundproofing is an additional benefit to filling the dings and dints from hail and stopping leaks. Comes in colors, not just black, so you could stay with traditional and cooler white. Love to hear what anyone has heard or knows. I have to repair my roof for the dings and leaks and was thinking this ould be a long term way to fix it.

Rocky Mountain SueI can t say that I ve heard of anyone doing this, but, WHY NOT? It seems that you covered all the pluses that could be gotten out of it. The ONLY bad thing that I can think of is the additional weight. (don t have a clue as to the weight per sqare foot)
I think it could be a very good way to PREVENT hail storm dings!!
It certainly shouldn t leak. Maybe the manufacturers will start using it?

Rocky Mountain SueDon t think that weight would be anywhere near the 150 lb. limit of roof, guess I should ask them about that though. I think it will fix the problems and prevent future hail damage, providing the hail isn t bigger than golf balls, lol!

Rocky Mountain SueDouble check on the weight, as I remember the last time this was discussed weight did become an issue.

Rocky Mountain SueAnother issue I seen come up using the bed liner material for roof coating was cracking along seams. Seems the stuff that was used became very hard and couldn t take the vibration and cracks apeared around the seams.

Rocky Mountain SueThere are a multitude of roof coating products on the market that are supposed to do just what the spray on bed liner does. But they are designed and engineered for roof coating, ie. lighter and more flexible. Some of them are listed specifically for RV use. We use a spray, roll, brush on rubber coating at work that will close up gaps up to 1/8"  any more than that you have to add a reinforcing mesh. The product is called TRUCO. It is intended for industrial use, primarily to coat old metal factory roofs and walls that have reached the end of there normal lifespan. It ain t cheep[&:] but it would defintely do the job. Here is the website http://www.truco-inc.com/
