RE: TX State Park Reservations

I know, I know before the lectures start...just found out that both DW and I are off this weekend.  Has anyone heard of any parks with availability in TX?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Only thing I could suggest is to call the P&W Dept. and ask if anything is open.  I m not betting real highly at this late date.  Good luck.

hmmmmmmm....I may be able to help, but I m not sure if this is close to you.
 
 I had weekend reservations for Lake Bob Sandlin in East TX (off I30) starting Friday afternoon and leaving Monday before 2:00 (a 3 nite stay).  
 
 I ve been invited to tag along to a campground at Lake Whitney with some friends and my firends Uncle is already out there and will reserve us a site the minute one becomes available.  I ve already given him the money and the site he s going to try to get us will open on Wed. a.m.
 
 Taking this into account, I decided to cancel my Bob Sandlin reservations on Wednesday.  
 
 I could, however, keep my reservation and call them and see if I can change the name on it to your family name.  I ve already put the deposit down and if I have to eat it, I will, but I can see if they ll change the reservation name and then you can simply pay for the rest of the fee (I think it ll be around $24.00) when you get there.
