RE: Well it s official...

I am a full time college student now.  Since my layoff in February, I decided that I wanted to do something different with the rest of my life.
 
 I have started back to college, at age 41, for a 2 yr degree in Early Childhood - Teacher Associate.  At the end of two years, which NC now requires, I can become a teacher assistant in the public schools.  I am so excited, by the time my 2 year old enters kindergarten I should  be working.  
 
 Since I have stayed at home with the kids most of their life, I just didn t want to work at a job that I would hardly ever get to see them.  This way while they are at school I will be working and when they get out I will be off.
 
 Leaves plenty of time for camping too[]  Sounds like the best of both worlds.

Congratualtions!  You ve made a great move - I know many folks who have quit their high stress big $$ jobs to do the same and have never regretted a second of it - one friend even becamse a high school teacher - and he loves it!
 Good luck with all of your endeavors - your gang will appreciate your ability to be with them during vacations and holidays!
