Once again, we are going camping and the weather people are calling for rain most of the weekend.  They are saying that the rain should end some time on Saturday, but I m having a hard time believing them.  The other night, as I watched the news here near Philadelphia, they were saying how in the month of May, there was ONLY ONE full day of sun.  I think that number has risen to TWO days of sun in May and it s already the 21st!  WHAT the $%^#!!!  [: (]

This is our Knoebel s camping trip with 4 other families.  I will NOT let a little rain dampen our spirits!  [;)]  ... even if the park has no rides running due to rain... [&:]  Anyone know of anything else to do in the area with kids if it rains -- besides playing in puddles at the campground??[:)]

Anyway, I m sorry we re camping this weekend because that means rain for the rest of you on the east coast.  If it s any consolation, we re camping a lot this year so there should be no drought!  [:D]

campingboatersEventually, things will start to go your way.

We camped for 56 continuous nights in 29 campgrounds in 17 states in the summer of 2001, and we had only two days that it rained.

campingboaters" To rain or not too rain" ...is that the question? I have given up on trying to beat, out plan or out guess the weather. I have come to the forgone conclusion that...
 " Weather WILL be provided[&:]

We camp regardless, unless they are predicting hurricanes or major ice storms[:o]

campingboatersThat s the right attitude to have.....we will have some kind of weather but it is alittle sickening to know that a three day weekend of camping is going to have rain. I ve just become a seasonal and I was really looking forward to this weekend. The next 3 weekends I can t  go so I m not a really a good camper at this moment.

campingboatersThe weather predicters are also calling for rain this weekend here in Michigan too.  Hit and miss showers, so maybe we will be missed but I dought it.  I look at it this way.  Let it rain.  This will just give me some time to play cards and games and just spend some quality time with the kids.  With our busy schedules we get such little time together anymore.  After all, isn t that what we go camping for?   Good luck on your weather.  I know going to an amusement park and having rain can really mess up the day.

campingboatersAs I was telling a co-worker... Rain will never stop us from camping, just slow us down a little and make us wet.  [8D]  Camping is ALWAYS enjoyable.  It would just be MORE enjoyable if it wouldn t RAIN all the time!  [:D]

Besides, we have our new instant up canopy that we need to Christen.  Hopefully, it will stop raining long enough for us to get the canopy up so we don t get drenched!

 Bring on the weekend!  [:)]

Camperroo

campingboatersAhhh rain...I m a bit bummed it s raining because this is the weekend our DD is being allowed to bring 4...yes 4 friends with her!!  Ohhh please...5 teenage girls on a rainy long weekend...I hope they like swimming and walking in the rain cause they aren t going to hang around inside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

campingboatersYes we plan on camping in PA this Memorial Day weekend.  DW wants to drive south where s its warmer.  Can t say I blame her.  She says at least she d be warm and wet.  I never trust the weatheeman.  I m still looking forward to the weekend in the woods even if my DW spends all her time shopping somewhere!

Campaholics

campingboatersCold, rainy camping trips can have their good points.  On Memorial Day weekend in 01 it we had quite a bit of rain.  Towards the end of the previous season I had resealed the seams and patched the pin holes (we were tent campers then).  I missed one, and it dripped right onto DW s forehead.  The next morning she said, " When we get home you are going to buy me a pop up with heat."   There were only two words to say..." Yes Dear."

BTW southern Wisconsin is looking like chance of showers for Saturday and Sunday.  But, Friday and Monday look OK, so set up and take down won t be bad.

Let the good camping times roll!!!

 Happy camping to all,

campingboatersone of the reasons we finally got our first popup was because it always rained when we camped...now that we have had two popups...it hardly ever rains...go figure....hehehehehehe...hasn t snowed either...lol

 campingboatersCamperroo,

I ve gone camping with my friend and between her and I we had 4 teenagers going plus friends.....and quess what......you never see them. Teenagers like to flock together and don t want to be seen with parents expecially Moms. They just come around for food...[:)]
