As some of you may know, the Dh and I have put the house on the market and are lloking for a southward move.  We were originally thinking of the Hampton Road, VA area since we have relatives there.

Well, things seem to be moving in a different direction.  DH had a call from a " headhunter/recruiter"  about setting up an interview with a company in FL.  He had a very long phone interview last week and on Monday they called to say they want to fly the whole family down to FL to interview the DH and get us hooked up with a realesate agent.  We leave tomorrow (Thurs) afternoon.

Our most important factor about finding a house is the school system and secondly, a nice family neighborhood.  We have been told that St. John s county has wonderful schools.  What about Duval county?  Seems like there are a ton more houses in this area.  How are the schools there?

What other areas should we consider?

Fed Ex just arrived with a relocation package!  Gotta go check it out!

Any info would be very helpful!  Thanks!

 MommaMiaCindy,

I have lived in Jacksonville for 19 years.  Very few of Duval County Schools are great, but for the most part most are not. [>:] Especially when it comes to the High Schools.  That all of course depends where you live.  [;)]

This is the largest city area wise in the USA.  So there is plenty of places to choose from.

Let me know your questions, you can e-mail me.

MommaMiaI can t tell you about school districts or any " local"  information, but we had friends who lived in the Ponte Vedra area just outside of Jacksonville.  Of course, St. Augustine is a few miles away too, but probably too far from Jacksonville.  The house our friends had was probably 1/2 mile from the beach and in a nice neighborhood.  Jacksonville is one of the cities I might consider living in if I weren t in Columbia, SC (a great town by the way)....
