I just plugged in the popup to our garage outlet for the first time this season to check the lights etc.  What happened is that as soon as I plug it in, it starts making a pulsating hum.  I think it s coming from the convertor.  It doesn t seem to matter if the convertor is on " Off" , " Convertor"  or " Battery" .

It s an old popup, but it was working fine when we put it away for the winter.  Any ideas about what would be causing this?

deniskiI would think if it were the converter then it s probally being overloaded and when the humming stops the converter is kicking out on some kind of built in overload protection.  Try disconnecting some of the devices connected to the converter like the battery, fridge, furnace or any 12 volt device that would cause a big load if it were having a problem.  If its possible try disconnecting everything from it.  If the humming goes away, start hooking things back up to the converter one at a time.  If there is a problem with something when you re-connect it...it will trigger the converter to start humming again.  A meter would also be a great tool if you have one and know how to use it.

 Lord Bless!

deniskiMy converter hums with the camper is plugged in and a 12v accessory is turned on (like the lights).  This is just the converter doing its thing.
