We tow a Santa Fe with a Dodge Caravan (similar numbers to yours).  I would echo the comments on the electric brakes, if we didn t have them I don t believe we could stop in an emergecy.
 
 We just got back from a 4,000 mile trip through the smokies and blue ridge mountains.  The one warning I would give you is that if you are not confident that you can reliably tell when your transmission is in torque lock, you need to add a transmission cooler and transmission fluid temperature gauge ifyou are going to pull in even remotely mountainous areas.  I had to watch my RPMs very closely because my transmission would drop out of torque lock frequently when I needed just a wee bit of extra power to maintain speed.
