For those Coleman models with the sink on the front side or door side, does the sink drain under the awning or is it rerouted to the opposite side? If not, does the drain and/or gray water container get in the way?

I just sold my 2001 SeaPine and am trying to narrow my choices for a replacement.

GDSLTSWe have a Bayside. The sink is a push out, with kind of a bay window. It is on the same side of the trailer as the door. The gray water drain is directly below the sink. I normally drain into a bucket, this seems to work OK, and I don t find it to be in the way. I ve tried to extend a gray water hose to the other side, where the power and water hookups are located, but had poor luck with drainage.

I saw some ideas posted on venting the connection, which I may try, this perhaps will help with the drainage.

 Good Luck.

GDSLTSI don t have a sink on the curb side, but I do have a shower.  It drains on the curb side of the trailer.  When we use it I attach the tote and then put it part way under the trailer so it is out of the way.  If we are not using the shower I don t hook it up.

GDSLTSI have a Bayside that has the drain on the door/awning side. I used to use the 15 gallon gray water tote that stores in a big fold down bracket under the rear of the trailer. When in use it just lays flat under the trailer right below the drain outlet. It is a pain to empty though. If I m camping at a place that has sewer hook-up I just run a hose from the drain to the sewer hole. I m still working on a good vent for the drain. The only time I ve had problems with drainage is when the hose is too long. I m just trying to vent it to speed up the drainage time.

GDSLTSLooking at the floorplans of the current Coleman models only the Bayside and Monterey have a sink on the door/awning side of the camper.

Until someone brought this up on another thread I didn t even realize that this is unusual.  We have never had any problems.  Usually we use 5 gallon clear totes to catch our grey water.  We find it convenient to have them near the door where we can see them often and know when to empty them.  They fit well right under the camper and the only time we ve ever had a draining problem was before we realized that we have to make sure the hose under the sink is straight when we set it up (sometimes it gets kinked and slows things down.)  Several times we have had sewer hook up and have had no trouble draining with the basic garden house running under the camper to the drainage area at the back of the camper.

GDSLTSWe have a Bayside and on one of these forums there was a post by 6quigs on using the blue 7-gallon Aqua-Tainers for a grey water tank with a " simple"  1-1/4 PVC pipe setup.  I put one together and it works great!!!  When it is full it is still manageable to tote and dump.  You can even hook up two tanks if you want, but 7-gal is fine for us..... and it drains very fast though the large pipe.  The tank sticks out about 2"  on the door side, but we have a table setup there so it does not get in the way.
