OK...on my way home yesterday from a week-end of camping in Indiana I was driving somewhere on I65 (ok, flying) but not any faster than all those other cars.  I passed a hwy patrol car (I think) parked with no one visible inside.  Do they set up cameras in those things to catch poor speeding motorists?  LOL  I m afraid to check my mailbox now!

cycloneJan!!  You drive fast???  Just can t imagine[:D]
If they got your picture, I sure hope you were smiling[;)]

cycloneJan, some but not all are what are called decoy cars, people see them and slow down.  The city I live in uses them(decoy s) all the time on one of the main streets.

cycloneJan, though I live in DE, my family lives in Souhern Indiana (right off I 65) and I go through KY to get to them.  I have never heard of cameras set up in KY unless it is something very very new.  They usually have lots of radar, especially on holiday weekends on I 71 and I 64.

And for honda " detractors" . I have gotten tickets in PA and Ohio with a  79 Corolla back in the day when I was younger and more prone to speed.  So if a Corolla can go fast enough to get a ticket, a honda can too...opps in thse days the speed limit everywhere was 55...

 cycloneJan,

Don t worry they don t hide cameras in Hwy Patrol Cars, That would be too obvious.

 They hide cameras in mailboxes!
So you should be fine as long as you didn t speed past any mailboxes.[:D]

The previous posters are right - the patrol car ain t eqipped with a camera to capture your car s ID for ticketing - it s there to momentarily make your heart race and your foot lift.  However, one parked squad often means that guy s running the LIDAR* and there are chase cars a little further down....

*Like RADAR, but it uses laser light beams rather than radio waves, for distancing and ranging....
