 popuptimesDave,

You may want to get with Ron for Ron s RUstic Signs.  He emailed me yesterday asking who or what Pop Up Times was because I" ve had so many visits to his page on my website (his contact info is there if you want it)...he may wish to advertise.  As a matter of fact, I mentioned it to him this morning.

Also,  I d love to see a future article on any of the following (unless they ve already been done)

 1.  How to Raccoon safe your campground
 2.  Bug control
 3.  Geocaching
 4.  Maybe a " Feature Park"  story in every article.  Chosing a different State every print
 5.  Chiggers (how to avoid them, treatment, etc)
 6.  Hiking - how to s, do s, don t s, with pet, with children, etc

I ll let  cha know if I come up with anythin  else..ha! [:)]

popuptimesI realize there a lot of veterans on this & other PU boards who seem irritated that PUT magazine isn t more " meaty"  & doesn t seem to broaden their own wealth of knowledge.  However, there are also many novices & those who are looking to purchase a PU who need the information many of us view as a given.  Therefore, some of the articles should appeal to those we want to recruit into Dave s cult[8D][8D].  Some of these ideas may have been presented in past issues.  However, recycling them once in awhile could grab the attention of one of our new or future recruits[;)].

 1) Camping with children less than 5 years old-->before, during, & after setting up camp.  Include sources for more information & equipment.

 2) Detailed diagrams with descriptive text on how to back-up the PU-->for those of us who are more visual learners[&:]

 3) Campground reviews as a mainstay feature.  Either from each regional PU club reflecting their outings or individuals from each region.

 4) Campground etiquette should be a permanent staple of PUT magazine.  Change the appearance of the format occasionally so as to keep the attention of readers.

 5) " Tech Talk"  or " Mr. Fix-it"  section should be another mainstay in the magazine.  Perhaps addressing problem areas brought up in the forum namesake.

 6) Feature a " mod"  of the month in a section titled something like " Pop-upping Made Easy" .  Or, another title reflecting a challenge addressed to make camping in the pop up more relaxing &/or organized.

 7) Tips on purchasing new or used PU.

 8) Tips on dry camping, partial hook-up camping, full hook-up camping-->equipment needed & the maintenance thereof.

 9) Difference in hitches-->friction sway control vs. WDH.  I realize " tim5055"  already addressed this for me on this board.  Yet, someone who hasn t read it may benefit by reading it in the magazine.

 10) Towing dangers

This is all I m able to think of at the moment.  Thanks for designating a specific post for solicting input.

 Peace be with you all.

popuptimesFeel free to use all (or part) of the [link=http://www.gonecamping.net/stories/birols_tent.html]Birols Tent[/link] story, I m sure Birol and Larry would concur with this, feel free to utilize any of the pictures posted. The ones on the first page are 100%, the ones on the second page can be blown up for higher resolution...

popuptimesHow about a " Featured Trailer" ? Pick one model(i.e.-Coleman Bayside) and do a feature on it? Standard equipment, options, towing weights, pictures inside and out, new/used prices for various years, etc. Maybe a selection of photos from Arvee board members of that particular rig?

Gone-CampingFeel free to use the pictures, except the ones where my daughter s face is shown fully. Call me paranoid .......

If you need additional pictures I have some too [;)]

Gone-Camping

popuptimesAnd with a growing family of Hynrid owners as part of the mix, perhaps a little attention to them would be useful, informative, and maybe even a step off of the beaten path?

popuptimesAs I read Dave s post, I think he s inviting us to WRITE the articles.  A handful of board members have written articles for the mag in the past.

Dave, would you be interested in pop-up related fiction?

Starcraft Dad

popuptimesI think another good story would be the about those of us that have older PUs.  Mine is a 1992 not really that old, but some of the early to mid 80s and before would be neat to see again.  My dad had a 1968 Apache, I would just have to find the pictures that I have on it.  I love those old basic campers with no frills, no hardtop and just a good time.  Would be kind of neat to compare the campers of today with the ones of yesterday.
