Well... after weeks of looking around we finally took the plunge and traded our 1989 8 foot Starcraft on a 2004 12 foot Flagstaff.  The 3 kids are getting bigger and the 2 double beds in the old Starcraft just seemed smaller this year.  It s one of those mixed emotion deals though.  You kind of get caught up in all the shopping for a new PU, but when we left the old one at the dealers it was kind of sad....seemed we were leaving some great memories behind.[:(]   The new PU is larger and fancier...but it sure has some " big shoes"  to fill[:)][:)]

camI know the feeling.  When we traded our Jayco 10UD for the big Bayside I too felt a little sad leaving the old one behind.  It had been a great home away from home and I was sad to see it go.  But, I was also excited about the prospect of more room & even more adventures.

 Enjoy your new camper!

 camHello all!!

Boy, do we agree with both of you...  We just traded up from a 2001 Coleman Taos to a 2003 Coleman Carmel CP.  We were also caught up with all the new features and the excitement of getting a new PU.  We were going through the demonstration of all the stuff in the Carmel and the dealer guy came with a forklift with a trailer ball welded to the end and scooped up the Taos and dragged it away...  We just stood there and I felt tears well up...  [:(]  I then yelled to " put it back!!!"   The guy thought we were nuts, but he put the Taos back and then we got to say our " goodbyes" ...  Lots of memories in that little guy!

camIt s funny how we put our emotions into non-animated, non-living things. I recently went through the same thing with, of all things, my COMPUTER!

My mom and dad sacrificed dearly to buy it for me about 7 years ago. It got me through school and five years beyond! I replaced it a couple of months ago, and it was truly hard to turn it off and move it!

camCongratulation on the new PU.  It is a sad feeling to say good bye to a friend.  The first 2 trips in the new trailer (back in 1999) ended up with someone going to the ER.  I started to think the thing was cursed.[:D]

Okay, okay.  I m hijacking the thread, but this is my first time doing it!

Or you can do what I did and get a KVM switch, so I have two towers utilizing one keyboard, video and mouse device.  I just turn on whichever computer I need.  My old one had software I needed and couldn t replace, so I wanted both, but didn t want computers everywhere in my house.
