 All,

Of course there are many ways to sleep on the bunk-end so I was wondering how you all sleep on the bunk-ends? Myself and the BW sleep with our heads out to the end of the bunk-ends. How about you?

whitestar505We have a shelf at the end so we cannot sleep that way without bumping our heads when we sit up. If we had children staying with us more often I would divide the large bed in two with a shower curtain hanigng from the center pole to make two bedrooms for them and less fighting.

LoveOurBayside

whitestar505Last year was our first year with the camper and we began sleeping with our bodies side to side - heads toward the door side of the camper.  When we got the shelf DH suggested we sleep with our heads toward the tongue of the camper so we could both use the shelf and so he didn t have to climb over me to get in and out of bed.  Only problem is the king slumber pack only has a zipper on one side so it s still tough for one of us to get in or out without disturbing the other.

Last trip DH said he d like to try going back to the other way so we ll see.

 whitestar505Hi All,
We have a King bed in our Coleman and we have always slept " feet in"  to the camper. We use air mattresses and quilts so no one has to crawl over another in the middle of the night.  DH made me a folding headboard to keep our pillows from " falling"  off between the mattresses and the canvas and I have a basket I hook over the headboard that holds a box of tissues and his glasses. This works out extemely well.
 Happy camping,
 Cheryl

whitestar505Check out the poll forum, I have the same question posted there.

whitestar505We ve always slept with our heads towards the door side and my wife on the side closest the window and me on the side closest to the interior. This matches the way we sleep in our bed at home, (she on my Right, me on her left) being 6 3"  I don t think I d fit head in or feet in! PLUS I used to be the one getting up 2 times a night fopr a stroll to the bathroom, however my CPAP machine for controlling Sleep Apnea cured that!

whitestar505We sleep in a tent when the weather gets warmer.......  about 3 feet from the fire.  That s our spot!  The kids take over the PU.

When we do sleep in the PU, it s across.... feet towards the door.  The queen size air mattress only goes across, so we don t have much choice.  Works out OK.... the ceramic heater sits on top of a plastic drawer unit that is on top of the furnace so we keep our noses warm.

I can t wait until the weather warms up and we get back in the tent.... the kids get up so early it will be nice to be able to sleep in a little.

whitestar505When I was in the Coleman, I suppose there was an option for sleeping with head or feet toward the camper, but always slept crossways out of habit, the old Starcraft bed s you didn t have that choice. And the new Hybrid with the Queen bed doesn t have that choice either.

As for which side I placed the pillows on, depends on which side was " slightly"  higher....

whitestar505I sleep crossways with my head toward the door side most of the time.

whitestar505There are usually three of us in the PU--one in each bunk end and one on the dinette bed. I sleep crossways in my bunk end...head toward the door. I prefer to sleep on my left side, and that way I m facing into the camper.

By sleeping crossways, I can use the outer end of the bunk for " storage" --I have a small folding clothes basket I use for a dirty clothes hamper. It lives in the far corner of the bunk, against the end. The unused half of the bunk is also handy for keeping extra blankets, etc., when they re not being used. Keeps  em from cluttering up the rest of the camper.
