 Folks,

Well, the weekend was like all the others this camping season, a washout. When we left Friday it was fair to partly cloudy at around 72 degrees. By the time we arrived at camp site it was very cloudy and 64 degrees. Saturday it poured buckets and the high was 58 degrees. We got around 2 to 3 inch of rain on ground that is all ready water logged. During the rain we took a ride to the dam on the Susquehanna River to find that it was in floor stages. All gates were open. The  rain was coming down so hard saturday night we could not sleep due to the noise of the drops hitting the plastic. Nothing like waking up to standing water of about 2 inch on the ground. Oh well, thats camping... We talked to the campgrounds owner about pulling the trailer out and he suggested we leave it there and up. So we did. We made arrangments for next weekend. Hopefully we will get it out and home after a long weekend.[&:]  Sure hope the weather breaks soon.[&:]

whitestar505The rain is one thing I don t like about camping!  When it hits the roof,( in a hard storm)  you feel like the whole thing is going to come crashing down!  We ve only been on one or two really rainy trips, and I thought for sure it would wake up the boys.  I guess they are heavier sleepers than me, becuase they didn t move a muscle!  We ve never had two standing inches of water though!  I definately give you credit for trying to make it through the weekend!  [:)]

whitestar505Sorry to hear about the rain out but I surely can sympathize with you.  I will be at site 310 on friday maybe we can meet.  Looks like there may be rain again for this coming weekend.  I have the Jayco at the dealer  for the roof lifters.

 Joe BuskirkJoe,

Was looking for ya on Saturday. What happen did you get wash away?[:D]

whitestar505My DW s brother came up from lower Delaware for a visit and  also I wasn t sure if you cancelled.  Are you staying next weekend there or just pulling the PU out?

Jeffrey

whitestar505Well, I guess you were right!
That s what you get for listening to me?[;)]
If you see anybody building an Arc, you might want to think about moving.

They predicted rain and storms around here all weekend. Of course I only witnessed a 10 second sprinkle, didn t last long enough to even get inside.
(Of course on the news... they claimed they were right, and found the one town that actually had rain?)

So I guessed what I have learned from this is ............
In MN 80% chance of rain means....... nothing
In MD 30% chance means...... wear your life jacket

 JeffreyJeffrey,

Just don t bet on the weather center forcast.[;)]

 Joe BuskirkJoe,

We are there already, at lease the trailer is, site 209. We are going up before Friday. Got ahold of kathybrj, what she does for mold and midew is use a product called, and correct me if I am wrong Kathy, Damp Rid. I checked the pricing at Home Depot and it was quite resonable. You might want to get some to dry out the camper. Will try to get intouch with you.

whitestar505Yikes, what a mess!  That s great, though, that the camground let you leave it there set up.  That s probably the best thing you can do with it after that much rain.

I kept Damp Rid in our camper all winter.  Don t know what it would have been like without it but I did find water in the container twice so it was definitely soaking moisture out of our camper.

If the trailer is set up you shouldn t have any mold or mildew to deal with.

 tlhdoctlhdoc,

After I get it out this weekend we will put some tubs in the trailer before closing it up. I will tell ya that it was so damp in there on sunday it felt like everything was wet. Had to turn the heat on to try and dry some of it out. The heat felt good on the joints at 57 degrees. [:D]
