Well, we went on our second outing this past weekned which was great! The only problem was the ride home in which we blew a tire on the pop-up! Not sure what happened, we were going about 50mph and had no extra weight in the camper. All of a sudden we heard a POP! and that was that. The tires are about 4 years old now. There was no sign of any wear or damage on the tires before the trip. I guess it was just time for it to go![:@]

The good news is that everything went fine and no other damage was done. But when that tire blew it scared the heck out of me!![:)]

Viking99We had the same thing happen when we last went and our tires were about the same age but have been used for long vacations.  Now my husband plans on putting the Jacks where they are easier to reach by just opening the PU trucnk door. Our motel was right across the street from a place we could buy a replacement for the spare and they put it on the wheel while we were eating breakfast so we did not lose any time.

 Viking99Viking99,

Sure glad one one was hurt?   Was it a Duro tire? If so I am surprised. They are design for the weight with several plys.  Was it hot outside?

Viking99

Viking99Whitestar505, the brand of tire was Lonestar. The temps were in the low to mid 70 s. I guess it was one of those freak things.

Opie, the worst part was getting the jack out to change the tire.

Well this gives me the oppurtunity to get some new tires now for the pop-up.

Viking99Our tires are four years old, but they have about 20,000 miles on them.  They are showing signs of wear.

I m having a difficult time finding replacements locally.

I have heard of people driving merrily along on just a rim, blissfully ignorant of the fact that one trailer tire has been flat for miles.  I m glad you are senstitve enough to know something was wrong.

P.S. - Chat tonight on Eskimo?

Viking99Sorry about the trouble -- I tried to push Tom into leaving around the same time in case one of us had trouble.

We had rain almost 1/2 the way home.

Viking99Austin, there was no way of not noticing this. the sound, the trailer slanted to one side and the fact that I can see the tire in mirror. We pulled over as soon as we could. I will be in chat tonight.

Angelsmom, we had rain from Columbus all the way home. Not just a light rain, but a hard pounding rain. It just plain sucked! Longest trip from Columbus to Cincinnati that I ever had.[:(]
