The Robinsons

I ve been trying to come up with a name for our dear popup.  I ve got one name that keeps coming to mind, but DH thinks is goofy.  And, it is, but I still like it....  I was thinking of calling her " Lurline" .  We re kind of out in the country, we take the camper out into the country, and I think " Lurline"  is a good country name!  Any other thoughts, ideas, opinions?  [:D]

Rocky Mountain Sue

The RobinsonsWhat s wrong with a  goofy  name for your PU? I think namin  it something fun and or different is half the fun. I named ours Cabin Cruiser  cause I have always loved the old Landcruisers (yep I use to be a cruiser), cabins and boats. My DH thought that my name for my PU was  goofy . [8D]

Jeffrey

The RobinsonsI m must side your DH.
How about " the camper"  or " the trailer"

People and Pets have names. Streets have names, Cities have names.
Some Boats have names, but none of mine do.

If my DW wanted to give our camper some cutsie silly name, and wanted me to call it by that name. I d say.......Yeah right, It s not going to happen.

 But that s just me.[:D]

otter

The Robinsonsen we first got our pop up we didn t know what to call it..popup, trailer, camper, tent - trailer,
I thought a  cutsie name would solve the problem.  We had named several of our cars so it made some sense.  We decided to wait till we got to know the camper better and a name would come.  Nothing has come to us yet.  I  may just be brain freeze!  Either way, name or no name, have fun camping.

NCSunshine

The RobinsonsMy nine year old daughter named ours.  She saw a signature on someone s post and it had " Jiffypop"  for the camper name.  I told her that I loved that name and how appropriate it was.

Then she asked what " Jiffypop"  was, and I told her about the popcorn in the aluminum pans that expanded as the corn popped.  She didn t believe so I went and bought one to show her.

Now she loves it, and wanted to call ours " Jiffypop"  but I said no that I didn t want to copy someone s idea.

Then she said " What about Jiffy?" , we have a winner.[:D][;)]

Rocky Mountain Sue

The RobinsonsMen name as many things as women, maybe more![;)] It is all about having fun, so do just that, have fun! Gee, how  bout the guys that call their shotguns or cars, Ol  Bessie.

cavman

 The RobinsonsBuffie,

My nickname is " cavman"  and my popup is " MYCAVE" .    Nuff said.

Starcraft Dad

The RobinsonsWe were trying to come up with a name for our Viking.  Trying to keep with the " Viking"  theme.  Nothing came to mind that was appropriate.  The  kids came up with the " Dream Cruiser."   One because we had dreamed so long for a PU and two because of our web-site name....Pop Up Dreams.[;)] So the Dream Cruiser it is.

I noticed by your webshots pics you have two little kidlets.  How about " Robinsons Ruff House."   I know ruff is spelled wrong but I liked this spelling.[:(]

The Robinsons

The RobinsonsI like the Robinsons Ruff House, but DH gave it a thumbs down.  Think he might turn out to be as difficult as Jeffrey! [;)]

On that note, Jeff, maybe you should name your camper.  Isn t it supposed to be bad luck to have a boat without a name?  Maybe that applies to campers, too, and if yours had a name, maybe you d get to camp more often![:D]

I came up with the " H.M.S. Lurline"  tonight because it is in my service and I am the QUEEN - but DH nixed that one, too.  He s just no fun!  He felt the need to remind me that we are not in Britain and the camper is not a boat - duh! [8D] Party pooper...

We ll probably let those two little kidlets pick a name for her.  Of course, they ll probably come up with " Bob" .  Or maybe we ll call her " Jeffrey" . [:D]

HersheyGirl

The RobinsonsMy DH calls our camper " Beckie s Follie" , whereas I call it " the camper" .[8D][8D][8D]

Popupnut

The RobinsonsHow about Robinson s cruiser???  Sounds abit like Robinson Caruso (sp)....Just a thought.

Don t let DH nix your creative and whimsical ideas - men have nicknames for all sorts of unmentionables.........lest we start a new thread????

 Jeffrey - you start!

gsm x2

The RobinsonsDid you graduate from tents?

Then how about " The Graduate"  which has a hidden reference to " Here s to you Mrs. Robinson."

If you don t know what I am talking about, ask your mother.

 Scott

Foxyladies

The RobinsonsScott.....I like that name.....I m old enough to have seen that movie.

My pu is called " foxylady"  because when my friend and I were camping with our kids, we said that we would have a sign that said foxyladies. .....of course that was 10 years ago.....now I changed my email from foxyroxy to " Nanaslilcampers" ....can you tell I just turned 50[:)]

CathyAnn

The RobinsonsMy then 3yr old daughter named ours " Snowy Falls" .  I have a suspicion it was named after something she saw on the cartoon Dragon Tales, lol.

 Coming to Daingerfield??

 Hugs-CathyAnn

texacokat

The RobinsonsFunny about some of the DH s on this post...why not name the camper?

The real question is, do you physically put the name on it (like a boat)? and if so, where? and how?

 could change my signature to
Rockwood 2518G " White O  Morn"  -- like the cottage in " The Quiet Man"  with John Wayne
