GeneF

 GeneFHi All

Thank you for all the good wishes on my retirement.

Actually, I won t feel fully retired until DW and DD go back to school in August but the feeling of just being able to fish without thinking about school the past few days has been great.

The fishing trip was a great success.  Plenty of bass with my catching the biggest smallmouth at 19 inches.  It was a fun fish to catch.  There were other big ones also and plenty in the 12 to 16 inch range.

Trout were scarce and didn t get a single one.  But then, I didn t see anyone else getting them so I didn t feel bad.  I guess the new rod s guarantee to catch fish didn t hold.  Well, I do have the rest of the summer and fall to break it in.

DD and DW came up for a couple of days and we enjoyed some kayaking.

The sunsets were great.  Just can t seem to beat them at Lake Umbagog.

Even the bugs were not as bad as I had expected but they were around.

Good to be back but looking forward to the next tip in a couple of weeks.

Turn KeyGene,  I hope you will still retain your "  teacherly powers"  when Jeffrey and I get out of line and need to be sent to detention ( and you KNOW that is bound to happen sooner or later!)

More important, though, CONGRATULATIONS!  Now you understand the true meaning of the phrase " like a kid out of school." [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]
