We rolled in Sunday afternoon in time to spend the rest of the day with our kids and grandkids for Father s Day. [:D]   My sister and two friends that I have known since school days (at least 100 years ago) went on a week long driving (sorry, not camping) trip to Williamsburg and VA Beach.   Can you say " four women in a small space for an extended length of time" ?[8D]   It actually went very well, no horrible incidents[&:] or anything, and Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement and Harpers Ferry were very much fun and interesting.   I had to restrain myself while hearing a speech by Thomas Jefferson (no silly, not the real one) about taxation without representation.  I really wanted to break into song from Schoolhouse Rock.   Anyway, I had forgotten a lot of the things that I learned in my high school history, and the reconstructed villages made it easy and enjoyable to relearn all those things.  I do have to say, tho (sorry, I know that lots of you are sick of hearing about this but.....) that I was very disappointed to see how little credit or even mention was made of the role of the First Nations people that took part in all of the difficult baby steps of this country.   I had to keep in mind that at each location we were being given a taste of what the people at that time actually thought, felt and said and so the attitudes towards the Natives were not very good.  Oh well, I still had a wonderful time, and after our history lesson we went to VA beach and played in the ocean and laid on the beach.   We also tried to eat all the seafood we could find, but I think there may be a little left in some small diners that we may have missed.    We also went to a murder mystery dinner, and it was a riot!!!
And, tomorrow I am getting the camper ready, for hopefully we are going camping this weekend.   From really good fun, to even better fun!!![:D]

wiininkweWell, as I told you little bro, we tried calling you twice while we were in Maryland, hoping you and Peg might meet us for some crab, shrimp, lobster, crawdads, crab cakes, scallops, etc.   If you would keep the darn phone where you can hear it ringing, maybe we could connect.   Oh well,  maybe we can find some leftovers for you somewhere.
