As visitors to my web site may remember, I added a page about a homemade water level indicator last year.  The design and photos were provided by a former member, " FredCamper" .

Well, I just received and installed a [link=http://www.title-3.com/WaterLevelIndicator.htm]commercially made water level indicator[/link]

Do me a favor and take a look.

The manufacturer is overseas and currently has no US distributor.  The problem I see is the minimum order the manufacturer wants someone to order.  I talked to Dave about them and he would be willing to import and stock them if there is sufficient interest to cover a good part of the minimum order.

The final retail cost would depend on shipping and customs dutys, but certainly should be less than $50, possibly less than $40.

 So, is anyone interested??

tim5055our holding tank for fresh water is almost clear, I can just open a cabinet and see it. I thought they all were visable??

Tim5055

jpreiserNo, this would be for the under floor tanks.  Most Coleman tanks and several of the other manufacturers hang the tanks under the floor.

The only way to see them is to get underneath the pop up.

But, that does bring up a valid point that I should clear up in my text.  Thanks

jpreiser

tim5055wow I thought they were all visable, since this is not true then this item would be of great demand I would think..looks good!

tim5055Tim, how accurate is it? The two I ve experienced in the Niagara and now the Kiwi are one step away from worthless.

I m going to play with it this week at the rally, but it does appear accurate.

I put the hose in the fill and started it running slowly.  As it filled I kept going back to the display and I was able to see it filling.  When it indicated full, I went out to the hose and within 30 seconds the water began comming back out the fill, showing it was full.

I will report more next week.

tim5055Assuming you find this equipment to work efficiently enough & with accuracy, we would definitely be interested in it, too.  We ve often camped at a state park which does not have water hook-ups.  Having an instrument display the actual water level in the tank would help us out emensely.

Keep us posted --no pun intended[:D]

 Peace be with you all.

tim5055Tim I wish I knew about it at the rally.  I am very interested in one.

Tim5055

tim5055Well after towing it to the rally and back still no leaks.

 It still appears accurate.

There is a link to the manufacturer on my web site.  Price delivered from Australia is about $36 US.

tim5055I would be lost without the water level meter in the Bayside.  When it gets down to about 1/3 I fill her up.  Once air gets in the pump lines it makes a horrible noise, thus I just try to keep it full of water.

Anyone that doesn t have one and can t see the level, the indicator would be great.

 tim5055Tim -
Great find and as always, terrific description and directions!
 I would/will buy one.
Let me know if Dave will have them in the store soon.
If not, I ll order one direct in about 3 weeks.  That should be enough time for Dave to decide if he ll stock them.
I ll check this link and the store before ordering mine.

SactoCampers

Red neff BarchettaI knew there had to be at least ONE advantage to having my water tank taking up cabinet storage space. My water level indicator? I open the cabinet door and look [&:][8D].

tim5055The Coleman Niagara s and Baysides come with a factory installed Water level indicator.
 How different is this one?
I see it has 5 LED s compared to 4 on ours.
Have you priced what it would cost to buy the Coleman one from a Coleman dealer?

Camping Coxes

tim5055I ordered ours today.  $30-35, including shipping, and expected delivery is 10 days.  I thought that was reasonable.  I ve ordered stuff from within the USA that takes much longer than that.  Best part is we ll get it in before our 2 week vacation, where we ll have no hook-ups and it will definitely come in handy to know when the water s getting low before it starts spitting while I m doing dishes.  Thanks for the heads up!

 tim5055I d definately be interested in one!!![8D][8D][8D]
