I opened up the PU to pack for a trip and I found the inside of the trunk has some mold.   Also...some of our camping chairs have mold on them.  What should I use to clean the trunk (which is plastic) and the chairs (which are canvas)?  Now I need to try and figure out why there is mold here.  Water must have gotten in somehow.

 Thanks

LKaskelAll it takes is for mold/mildew to form is maybe putting away the chairs when they were a little wet with dew. Mildew can do amazing things with very little moisture.

We ve found cleaning it was easy; a dilute solution of bleach will kill the mildew then your favorite cleaner, the hard part was keeping the mildew from returning.
Since you re south of the Mason Dixon line and in the humidity belt you should think about getting either silca desiccant available at craft shops or a product like Damp Rid for the camper when closed. IMHO the silica desiccant is better as it can be dried in a warm oven and used over and over again.

 LKaskelLKaskel,

I agree with mike4947. I have been doing a lot of camping in the rain with no problems. I have been using " DAMP Rid"  to help with keep the mold out. You have open my eyes however. I did not think of of the storage trunk. So I will put some in the trunk tonight.[:)]
