 Hey everybody -

Just wanted to say " Hey"  - we are getting ready for our 17-day pop-up vacation.  We leave on Friday.  We picked up a Dutch Oven for the trip; after that meal at Vail Lakes, how could we not?  Costco has a set with a 9 qt. DO, an iron skillet, an iron griddle, and a carrying case all for 29.99.  Wow, couldn t pass that one up.

Anyway, we re heading out to Big Bear (Hanna Flat) for 2 nights, then Pyramid Lake for 4 nights, then Yosemite Lakes for 6 nights, and finally Jalama Beach for 4 nights.  Now that is what I call a camping trip.

If anyone has any outstanding DO recipes for us to try on the trip, send  em our way!  It sounds like there will be some camping going on while we are gone as well, so we wont feel too guilty as we lounge in the sun.......

 Cheers!

Hi Randy & Kerry!  Have a GREAT time.  Sounds like a fantastic family vacation and one that will most likely have wonderful memories for all.  Enjoy and lounge to your hearts content! [:D]

GuestMikey & Family, welcome to the boards. We look forward to meeting you at one of our rally s. We were camping in a house for a week in the Sierra s about an hour from Yosemite. Not sure when we can go camping again due to a possible house  purchase in the Sierra s in Twain Harte. We have to do some fire abatement which means raking and tree cutting. We will probably have to take some long weekends this fall to do this.

I was wondering when you guys were leaving for you trip.  I just wanted to let you know we were thinking of you and to have a GREAT time!!

Have you ever stayed at Hanna Flat in Big Bear?  Kendra s girl scout troop stays there every year.  It is a nice place.  Very rustic, no hookups but in a beautiful setting.  Definately a place to go if you want to get away from the Big Bear crowd.

Have a safe trip, and can t wait to see the pictures when you return.

OK, something weird happened there.   Anyway, Randy, try Moose s recipe for Kampers Stroganoff, it was in the papers he gave us at the seminar.  We have made it twice and both times have come home with an empty kettle.  Very easy and Very yummy.

 GuestHey Flinders Family,
Your camping plans sound fantastic.  Have a wonderful trip!

 Mikey and DeLisa,
You are welcome to join us at the Casitas trip in August if you are interested.  We will be there with the Darksiders.  Check the post from Dee4j because she is trying to get rid of her reservation for both the campsite and the waterpark.

GuestAnd just to show Mikey and DeLisa that nothing other than showing up is necessary to be a member of SCCampers, check out http://sccampers/members/  They are listed.

As a reminder to everyone, if you submit a short bio of your camping (in 106 words or less) and then answer these three questions , we ll post it up on an information page.

Thanks for all of the warm wishes as we prepare for our 17 day pop-up experience.

Jacqui - I wasn t at the seminar, so do you think you could email be the Stroganoff recipe?  ( Randy@flindersfamily.com )  It sounds great and I wanna try it!

Lori - If you re reading this, (and I know that you are....[;)]), can you email me the Chicken Pot Pie (aka Chicken N  Dumplins[:D]) recipe as well.  That one was yummy and I am thinking I should give it a try.

And, i can t go on such a long trip without buying some gadget for the trailer.  What to buy, what to buy?  Hmmmmmm............

How about a A BAL leveler?  Been wanting one of those for a while.....  Gonna try it out this Friday!  Gotta have new toys!
