Has anyone seen the garagable trail-lite ? Can you walk inside with the top down ? Does anyone know of a dealer near Charlotte North Carolina that has one ? I am really curious - I even measured my garage !! Thanks everyone!

homecrewI don t think it is being manufactured anymore, though the trail-lite.com page suggests otherwise and is practically worthless for any useful information. Consider yourself lucky if you can find one.

homecrewThe one I was in, was set-up but I m pretty sure you could still go in it.
It wouldn t be comfortable to use that way, but probably good enough for packing.
It only comes down a foot and a half, I m guessing?

The bunks are really at an odd height though alot lower to the floor than other hybrids, and the bunks are also not very tall inside.

If we ever moved to a hybrid, it would have to be something like that.
Cause I have no outside parking spot, Unless I move?
But I don t see any of these happening.

Jeffrey

homecrewI don t know if they still make them.
But a dealer up here, still had one on the floor a couple months ago.

homecrewThanks Jeffrey - I m not sure if I can talk the DH into a road trip to go see it (we just came back from the Eastern Rally!). We did alot of siteseeing this trip, not our usual camp and hike, and moving around sure eats up the vacation time.

homecrewDW and I saw a Bantam garage model a couple of years ago. A few months later, we heard there were some nonspecific " design"  problems with them, so we stayed away.

 homecrewHomecrew,

I saw one here at a local dealer, the zippers and the canvas on the raisable portion are not designed to be water proof. We saw one after a few days of moderate rain, inside was wet , wet wet. I also checked  how the canves was connected, and it was ripping off from the roof portion as it was held by velcro which was not strong enough to hold it in place. I would steer clear of them. My opinion .....

homecrewThanks for the good advice everyone ! I keep thinking with all the high tech materials that they could make a camper that you could walk into for packing and potty that would still fit in a garage. [:(]

homecrewI would love a Hybrid that fit in the garage - but I don t think it is going to happen.  I am beginning to look lovingly at the Coleman Caravans.  Who knows, the Santa fe may be for sale in the future.[:o]

homecrewSaw one last year at a dealer between Little River Village and Knoxville.

this is part of the web pages for the Bantam Garage Model.
With a step ladder and a can of porous materials water proofer (at mast hardware stores next to the Thompson s water seal) can be painted on the canvas.  My Jayco has canvas on the sides, and that was what I did and it really repelled water.

I would mask tape plastic around the sides as I still have the repellant on the aluminum sides.

homecrewTime for bigger/deeper garages and bigger/wider garage doors, that will solve the problem!

Hey Steve,
I thought you d gone camping this weekend[8D]

Y-Guy

homecrewTried to, every State/Fed CG was booked.  Until we get in the house and can really deep cycle charge the batteries and such the DW wants hookups, as do I.  So August we are planning to camp, as well into this fall months.
