Left for my seasonal site on thursday night......couldn t wait. My family was coming on friday for a picnic......had my three grandchildren and non-camping husband too.

It was so darn hot[:(]....but my pu did very well. My pu is under tall trees so it was pretty cool. I have no air so I just ran my fans during the night. It was terrific. I really love my pu. My almost 4 year old granddaughter stayed with me from friday till last night. She was aloud to use the port a pottie for all functions. My goodness, it was awful to empty. I had bought from the campground a bottle for the pottie....it was suppose to be odorless.....not....I prefer the thetford packets that have the blue powder in it.....it works much better. I went to the bathroom to empty it in the toilet but it really took a long time so Iwent to the dump station so I could really clean it out good. It smelled wonderful after that. I m recommending the thetford packets for port a potties.

Had a great weekend but goodn t get up to go to work today[:@].....three more weeks until my vacation[:D][:D]

FoxyladiesGlad you had a good time.  I use the liquid Thetford stuff and never have an odor problem.

FoxyladiesWe  camped over the 4th also, Sunday to Sunday coming in several times to work.  The campground had over 200 full campsites and there was no loud noise or fireworks. Having to make reservations so far ahead for the 4th the party camper cannot get in. Rangers made the rounds frequently.
We do not have air conditioning either but had a campsite with 100% shade and it had cooled off enough by bedtime to make sleeping comfortable. No sun means no grass so a lot of sand tracked in.
We left late Sunday altho we had paid until Monday and without expecting it, they refunded one days cost.

FoxyladiesHey, weren t we supposed to go camping on this weekend??!!  [:D] [&:] [;)]

FoxyladiesI didn t camp over the 4th.  I do love my popup s air conditioner in the humid times of late July and August in NC.  It makes sleeping so much better at night.

FoxyladiesWe had a great camping trip this July 4th at Turkey Swamp County Park (NJ). Ran the a/c as did other campers nearby. Tenters visited us in our popup to cool off. Not the party atmosphere we dread - rangers made the rounds frequently and there is a no alcohol policy. Not sure if it is enforced (saw lots of blue & red cups)but didn t see or hear anyone out of control.

FoxyladiesWe had a terrific time camping in Lynchburg, VA over the long weekend.  It was hot and humid, but yes, the airconditioner is a wonderful thing!  I never knew summer camping could be so much fun. I just couldn t do it in the tent I loved for years!  Can t sleep at all when it s hot.   This popup camping is a blast...I ve become ...ADDICTED!  [;)]  I start planning the next trip before I come home from one!

FoxyladiesWe dry camped at Tom Miner Basin FS campground near Yellowstone Park (just northwest of Gardiner, MT).  The first night (Thursday), there were only 2 sites occupied.  More people trickled in Fri and Sat though.  Beautiful weather and despite a recent grizzley bear mauling incident in the area, never saw a bear the whole time we were there!  The campsite had a beautiful rocky creek right next to it, so we got to listen to burbling water at night.   We went on some short trails (one of them is only 1 mile) and saw a lot of petrified wood.  We had picked up a collection permit at the ranger station in Livingston and so were able to pick up a sample of the petrified wood along one of the trails.  All in all, it was a great trip!  If you like to dry camp, this is a good place.

FoxyladiesHad a great time 4th of July.  We had a picnic at my site with Foxyladies family.  It was really nice.  I had to stay an extra day though.  My dog got really sick and had to be hospitalized over night on Sunday.  Worked out good though, Monday was my birthday, so I had an extra day off.  The dog is doing fine now.  Try to keep your dogs from eating grass when it has been a rainy season.  The vet thinks there was bacteria growing on the grass and when Winter ate it, it upset her stomach something awful.  She was vomiting and even had bloody diarrhea.  It was kind of scarey.  They had to give her IV antibiotics and fluids.  So, please careful with your pets.
