Have returned from a  10day stay at Cherrystone, Va campgound.  Will provide a review soon.

 Here is my review:
 Review of Cherrystone Campground, Va

?   We stayed on lots 406 and 407 the week of June 28 through July 7, so I will review the facilities close to this area and also the campground overall.
I will rate the following on a scale of 1-10(1 being Bad and 10 being Excellent).
?   Bathroom facilities ?Bath House #3 -  Prior to July 4th holiday; I would rate this as an 8. July 4th weekend- I would rate this as a 4.  This bathroom was closed and cleaned from 1:30pm to 3:00 pm. Most of the problems were the people using the facilities, empty shampoo and soap containers in the shower stalls and toilet paper on the floor.  I believe that the bathrooms should have been cleaned more during the heavy periods, holidays.
?   Little Neck Caf,- A restaurant/snack bar.  I would rate this as a 5.   The first Sunday we went to the all you can eat breakfast and it was far from all you could eat unless you spent several hours waiting for food.  The food was slow in being put out and with the crowd it was frustrating waiting to eat.  The staff was less than eager to please the patrons.  Needless to say we never went back for breakfast.  We did try to get ice cream but at time this was just as frustrating waiting for something as simple as this.
?   Game Room- I would rate this as an 8.   Kept the kids occupied.
?   Laundry- I would rate this as a 7.  For 3-4 days, that I noticed, 2 large capacity washers and 2-3 dryers were out of order.
?   Camp sites that we were on-  I would rate these as an 8.  Level and spacious.
?   Camp Store- I would rate this as a 9.  Well stocked with RV supplies, groceries, sundries, sodas, ice and beer.
?   Farm Stand ? I would rate this as a 9.  Stock with vegetables and seafood available.
?   Bait and Tackle shop-  I would rate this as a 9.  Well stocked and helpful staff.
?   Fishing Docks- I would rate these as an 8.  Pretty well maintained.
 ?   Pools- I would rate these as a 9.
?   Pavilion- I would rate the activities presented here as a 9.  Fireworks were great, live band and other activities.
 Other topics:
?   The bath house that was close to the Camp Store and pool was somewhat cleaner but smelled like sewage most of the time.
?   There was a fish cleaning station close to Bath House #3 and most of the time there was a terrible odor of rotting fish.
?   The trash receptacles were close to our camp sites and right next to the cabins and on July 6 & 7 the trash was piled and there was a terrible order coming from this.  A couple that arrived on July 6 was complaining of the stench.
 Overall Rating: 7
There are a lot of activities for all.  The campground is large with 700 sites.  I would go back but not on a holiday.

Joe BuskirkThanks for the review . I tried to look at the pictures but the link would not work?????  We stayed at cherry stone last year during a HUGH storm!! THe bathrooms were closed since the electric was out, thankfully we have a toilet in the camper but I felt bad for those who did not. It was a nice campground but I like more of a woodsy feel.

I think that is because there is a dump station behind that bathhouse.

There is also a porta john there to use when the bathrooms are being cleaned... when we were there last year it gave off quite a stink since it was hot out.....Plus the smell from the seafood stand..they both are close to the pool so that may be some of the smell[: (]
