QuoteOur first trip out is to Carpinteria State beach

 Hi Kim & Richard,
Coincidentally, that was our maiden voyage in our new PU back in January  02.  Silly us, we did only one night, after which Mike said popping up and down was too much effort for just one night.   Enjoy!

If you go to the very first post in this thread, you ll find links to click for info about this Far West Rally, as well as the " Update Info"  post I made yesterday.  I booked the four extra sites, so you re in.  Later today or tomorrow I ll e-mail my address to all of you on the list so that you know where to send your $36.  What a great rate for two nights!  If you have any questions about Far West, just holler.  We ve been there three times, so are familiar with it.

Whoa, I just noticed your signature... a 3yo and twin 1yos?????  OMG, how do you do it?  Ours are 9 and 3.  It took us forever to pop up and down when the younger one was under 2.  3 is such an easier age.  Your kids will like the petting zoo at Far West.  Just some friendly farm animals.  Looking forward to meeting you all!  [:)]

I just saw that you have a 9YO daughter.  Yippee.  Finally a girl for Emily to play with.  But she s such a tomboy, she can keep up with any boy, if they ll let her play with them.  But at least there will be another girl for her to play with.  As long as there s no Barbies involved, she s in.[:)]

 AMEN!
Mind you, Barbie is pretty tame now compared to the trash out there, e.g. the Bratz line. [: (]

 GuestWelcome Kim and Richard!
Our maiden voyage (not counting our driveway) was also at Carpinteria.  Seems to be a good spot to check everything out.  We got our pop up in July 2001 and were very lucky to find a spot at Carpinteria the following Saturday night.   We loved pop up camping from the start and haven t even looked at our tent since.  We still enjoy camping at Carpinteria especially when we get a spot in the beach row.  I love hearing the sound of the waves and the trains at night.  We will be there the weekend of this rally (made the resers. when I saw there was an available weekend before this rally was planned).
 Enjoy your camper!

QuoteWe got the four more sites, but not specific numbers, because sometimes they have to juggle sites around to accommodate bigger rigs, and Cedar is for the big ones. However, we definitely have the sites already listed above. (I explained that being PUs, we ll need as close access to the bathroom as possible.)

Not to be pushy, but if we can t get into Cedar, then sites 6-9 in Birch would be good because we d still be in close proximity to the rest of the group.  I d hate to be clear over in Alder with the rest of you in Cedar.

OC Campers

GuestWelcome Kim and Richard.  Looking forward to meeting you.  I am the wagonmaster for the October Halloween rally in temecula and we have 2 sites remaining.  Is this something you may be interested in?  Let me know.

Hooray, Scott and Georgeanne are coming too.  I was afraid we wouldn t see you guys till the beginning of the year.

Don t worry Trina, my daughter Kendra (age 12) will be there this time.  No barbies in her toy bag.  She is the romp around in the dirt kind of kid.

Oh, Emily will be in heaven.  And if the boys give them a bad time because they re icky girls, I ll have Emily pitch to them!  That ll quiet them down.  Or at least scare the dickens out of them!  High and inside is her specialty.  [;)]

GuestTrina, our girls will give those icky boys a run for their money.  Kendra tried softball but she just couldn t hit the ball.  Now give the girl a pocket knife a she will whittle away.  This week she even learned to bate her own fishing line with those gross nite-crawler worms.  Plus, her dad told her if she can catch trout she can clean trout.  Soooo, she also can gut a fish too.  Nasty!!!![: (]

CottonwooderSorry about not replying sooner, but I was out of town all last week.  As much as it pains me to say this, go ahead and give our site to someone who s definitely going.  Dave s trial still hasn t settled, and it may be one of those things that happens last minute...or not.  It s only fair that someone who is confirmed has a spot.  If we can make it, we ll find a site, even if it s a bit further away from everyone.

Jacqui, tell Kendra that the next time I see her, I ll teach her how to filet the trout--much easier than gutting and cleaning them!  That s what I do when we used to go fishing up at Bridgeport.  I can t wait until Lil  Griffy is old enough to learn how to fish!

[:(][:(][:(]  <--there isn t a pouty face big enough here.

Lori had site #9, which is close to the stairs leading to the bathroom.  May I suggest a fair way to re-assign this site is to a family that needs quick access the most, e.g. potty-training kiddie (like Griffy [:(]) or other little kid, or whoever else needs a bathroom quickly.  Lemme know!
