Being new to camping and new to owning a pop-up, we decided to sit down, go through our journal and see how much we have used the pop-up since our first trip (the end of August, 2002).  We were surprised to discover that we have taken 15 trips (lengths varing from two to eight nights, miles from 150 to 500, and 6 states) in eleven months.  Not bad huh!  The most surpising thing was that over half of the trips (8) were out of state.  We tried to think of one campground that we didn t like and couldn t come up with one.  We would go back to all of them again except that there are so many more out there.
We have really enjoyed camping and our little tent on wheels and wonder why we waited until our 60 s to start.  We also want to give credit to all of you here on the board who have helped smooth the way for us making for some great experiences.
OK, we just got back from a great weekend trip and I can t stop the bubbling over with happiness feeling that comes after one.
We left a copy of the Pop-Up Times and Camping World in the bathroom at Mt. Pisgah CG and someone picked them right up.  Hopefully, it will mean a new great member will join us.
I have to go do the laundry, that should bust the bubble of happiness.

slowpezWe waited (procrastinated?) until our late 50 s to get up off the ground.  I finally got freaky about bedding down w/snakes, tarantulas, scorpions and other such critters.  So we bought a popup to last us until we retired, then we d get something bigger and " more respectable."   We and the little grandkids had such fun with the popup that we retired early (remember when the market was good?) and by then had no intention of getting rid of " The Rig"  anytime soon.  Then came the dreaded diagnosis, surgery and chemo.  Several trips where DH did all the work and I took lots of naps.  But, oh, those serene sunsets and sunrises!   Meanwhile we accumulated a whole bunch more grandkids (11 in all) who LOVE camping with us at the beach, the desert, the mountains or even at the campground down the road a couple miles.  Life is not just good...it is AWESOME.

Nope.  Use to have a job in which everyone took the longest time to do the easiest task.  Me, I use to have it done before anyone asked for it.  Everything was signed using first initial, last name.  S(usan) Lopez devolved into slowpez.

Glad to hear about your experiences with your PU.  We have talked about moving up to a hardside but it sure would be hard to leave the PU.  We both love the openess.  Hopefully, DH will retire in two more years and we can do some cross country traveling.  We are looking forward to that.
