Hi all, not sure if it s proper to start a new post on this, but there were several different threads on converter problems so thought this may help the most!
As my 12v problem post explained, my BIL s PU wasn t supplying any 12v power when plugged in to shore power. On the battery it was fine for 12v and on shore power it was fine for 110/120v. Jayco Service answered my email by saying there was an internal fuse that may be blown and may need to be bumped up to 7 Amp from 5 amp.
Well, sure enough, that was the problem. Tore it apart tonight after work and found the 5 amp fuse blown, replaced it with a 7 amp and it works fine so far! It was a fair amount of work to get into it, but the whole job took just under 2 hours and that includes a 20 mile R/T drive to get a fuse. The converter is a Centurion brand, by the way. If anyone would like detailed info on tearing into it, feel free to email me!

garym053Those internal fuses are a big PIA, it will blow every time you allow the battery to go dead and try and turn anything 12v on. We relocated that fuse to outside the converter  for easier access if we ever blew it again.

What type of fuse does it take?
