What are your favorite online RV and camping supply stores?

We live in an area bereft of such things, and, with four kids, I prefer to do my shopping online anyway.

 www.overstock.com  (has a camping section)

madroneThe PUT s store[:)]   If they don t have it, I ve posted a list of links on another message board.  I compiled it originally for my DH s side of the family who are newer to camping & were going to camp with us for a weekend in June.  DS was sick, so we didn t make it.  They, however, went & had a great time!  Even though they cheated by going to a restaurant for dinners[:o]

Here s the list I posted:

One of my favorite topics...Resources.  I love collecting resource links as it takes up A LOT less space than magazines & books.  Which reminds me, I should be cleaning up the office & back storage area right now...oh, well.  Lord knows these massive piles aren t going anywhere[&:][;)]

I compiled most of this for my husband s side of the family who are newer to the " world of camping" .  Here are some excellent resources for equipment, not necessarily in any preferential order:

http://www.bargainoutfitters.com/  or http://www.sportsmansguide.com(purchasing the " membership"  is well worth the $)

 http://www.cabelas.com/

 http://www.basspro-shops.com/

 http://www.colemans.com (military surplus outlet)

 http://www.campmor.com/

 http://www.campingworld.com/

 http://www.rei.com

 http://www.giantrecreationworld.com (VERY expensive!!!)

 http://www.rvcatalog.com

 http://www.giantrec.com/

 http://www.earthamaps.com

 http://www.bargainhunt.koolhost.com (Suzy-Q s web site)

 http://www.lehmans.com (" Amish"  catalog)

 http://www.outdoorcooking.com/

 Misc. accessories:

 http://knight.hypermart.net/accessories.htm (" accessories" )

 http://www.solutionscatalog.com/

 http://www.campchef.com/

http://www.ltdcommodities.com/ (this site is good if you have an established home business.  However, persistence & patience is required for deliveries)

http://www.abcdistributing.com/ (offers similar products as LTD Commodities.  However, the service is MUCH better)

http://www.overstock.com (can offer some good prices on various camping equipment)

http://www.ebay.com (" the online garage sale with bidding wars" ; seriously, some retailers sell some " new-in-the-box"  stuff which can be had for reasonable prices.  Sometimes, I find the bids exceed the price of an item I can find at a local  brick & mortar  store on sale...saves on shipping costs.  Yet, I have found a couple of really good deals on ebay.)

 Retail stores such as:

Sears (http://www.sears.com) --will let you order online & pick-up at the  brick & mortar  store, thus, saving shipping & handling costs.

 K-Mart (http://www.bluelight.com),
 Wal-Mart (http://www.wal-mart.com),
Mejier (has web site, but you cannot make purchases from it),
 Sam s Club (http://www.samsclub.com), &
 Costco (http://www.costco.com)

are good for some equipment.  However, some of the smaller items may not be available online or worth the shipping plus tax.  And, K-Mart as well as Wal-Mart do not sell clothing or footwear online.

Family Dollar & other Dollar stores are good for misc. items.  As well as the Salvation Army stores, flea markets, & garage sales.

Silver tarps http://www.tarpsatwholesale.com/silvertarps.html (for tents) or http://www.reflectixinc.com/  (for campers) to reflect the sun s heat.  Reflectix is also available at Home Depot & Lowe s (& Menard s...?).  Or, the infamous PopUp Gizmos for the solar covers http://www.popupgizmos.com/

Here s a great book on family camping with kids:
 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/156148248X/popuptimes/103-3237730-8106260

 Camping for Beginners:  http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0762707496/ref=pd_sim_books/103-3237730-8106260

I puchased a fleece footed " jammie"  (2 sizes too big) for my son through this site.  Since he moved around too much for a sleeping bag or any covers, the layering method made it easier for all involved. http://www.onestepahead.com/ I, also, purchased his 30 SPF sun hat & SPF beach cover-up from this same site/catalog.

Since these cg s are individually owned & operated, the quality of " nice"  camping varies greatly.  For instance, there is a Jellystone cg in Holly, MI which I would never stay in, despite it s " awards" .  Yet, the Jellystone cg s in St. Louis, MO & Luray, VA have had more favorable reviews.  If you find a good one, they are GREAT for little ones!!!  http://www.campjellystone.com/locations.html

I forgot to add Army/Navy supply stores to the list as a another great source for equipment.  I don t think they have a web site...don t know.

In searching for the " Quicksystem Oversized pavilion 19  x 11 "  I found a few price comparison search engines helpful:

 http://dealtime.com

 http://www.bizrate.com

 http://www.outsmarted.com

Also, http://www.google.com does a wonderful job of at least searching for links.  And, http://www.askjeeves.com use to be a lot better.  Lately, " jeeves"  hasn t be too helpful for me.

 Hope this helps[8D][;)]

 Peace be with you all.
