 TJWSANTAFETJWSANTAFE,

We got the a call from the park also.. They stated they had lots of damage. Would be closed at lease a month or better. So plans have change again. Not sure what yet, but seems like every time I try to link up with some club members it falls apart somehow. Happy Camping !!!

 jstaddwtrWe are pretty disappointed[:(]

Our friends who were to come have a tree still resting on their house...so they have been " camping"  for days!!!![:o][:o]

We looked around messages and decided to " barge"   (sorta), in on the folks going to Hickory Run State Park in Pennsylvania this week.  We are determined to put some names with some faces!!!!!![:D][:D][:D]  " Hersheygirl"  made the mistake of wondering if anyone who was going to Westmoreland would now join them.....so with the help of " Tracy" .....we decided to take the plunge!![:D]

jstaddwtrHey everybody - I m finally hooked to a computer via a generator. Chesterfield County took a direct hit from Isabel...and I haven t had power or water since Thursday.  My house is okay - but the dead end road I live on is a mess. It took 4 men with chainsaws almost 3 hours Friday just to make a narrow vehicle " path"  - and it is still untouched and probably will be like that at least another week. I don t miss the power much (we are using Earls generator), but not having water is a pain.

I talked to Westmoreland yesterday, and they lost all of the boat dock, had heavy flood damage to the River Retreat Conference Center, and had 6 cabins destroyed by trees.  Of all our parks, they were probably hit the hardest - though Pocahontas has to be a close second. Here, they say we may not get power until next week. I ve been here over 20 years - and I have never seen our lake as high or as swift as it was last weekend.

Cancelling this trip was especially disappointing for Earl and I - we were considering it our " honeymoon"  - since we were not able to go anywhere last weekend because of Isabel.  The wedding on the 13th went wonderful - except it rained, and we had to have it inside the church.

Ever get the feeling of a gray cloud over your head?  I m there...believe me!
