I have heard good things about this park and want to take Jeffrey for a few days somewhere. I do not want to spend a fortune.

I have narrowed it down to the Navy Rec Area at Soloman s Island MD, but Jeffrey is afraid we will be spotted by one of his sisters and we would then be playing host to all the little ones so they could use the pool complex and put-put. Maybe one day but not everyday (please note I can say this as they are not MY grandkids, I inherirted them when I said I DO) and Raymond cannot get off so I would be cooking and chasing 4 of  em.

Then there is Cherrystone, a nice place, my allergys would get better, but for 5 days, I m not so sure.

Knoebels Park would do nothing for my allergys since it is inland, but at $23.50/weekday for the armband, it is the best park bargain around. Rates at the campgrounds are reasonable, at least from their website.

Now which park is best? I would like to run the AC, so that may make mt decision for me. Please help and tell me which is best for a mom with a teen (possibly 2) boys.

 SheBantamHi Paula,

I was at Knoebels last night.  It is less than an hour from where we live.  It is a very, very nice park.  Free parking and shuttle if you don t want to walk.  Free pavilions that you can leave a cooler on to eat in the shade if you don t want to buy food in the park.  You can take your pet in the park.  Free admission, you can get tickets or wristbands for rides.  Free entertainment.  Benches all over the place to sit and rest.  Trees for shade everywhere.  Good food and the price are OK.  Hot dog $1.50,  Pizza $2.00 to $2.40 a big slice, funnel cake $2.50 etc.

SheBantamPaula if you go let me know when.  We will try to visit you.  Also I can get $5 books of tickets for $4.50 at work.  They are good for rides and food.  During the week the park sells the $5 books for tickets for $4.50 but they are good for rides only.

SheBantamTracy, we are looking at Mid August Wednesday thru Sunday (Thursday and Friday he coud get Armbands and then by Saturday might be too pooped to think about riding anything [;)].  We are also tossing around Frontier Town. When Jeffrey heard it was on the beach and it has a water park and he knows  it would be better for my allergies, he is definitly thinking Frontier Town. I will let you know! Depends on if I can get campground reservations as to when and where/

 SheBantamPaula,
I ve been to Frontier Town, and while it s nice, it is NOT on the beach.  It is on the bay and I don t believe it has a beach area on the water.  There is a nice crabbing/fishing pier and the view is very nice from that area.  The water park is nice, but it s small.  There are only two small water slides for the " older"  kids, a large water sprayer-type pool and a lazy river-type ride.  There is also miniature golf, but I think you need to pay for it.

I m guessing your son would have PLENTY to do at Frontier Town OR Knoebels!

SheBantam

SheBantamFrontier Town and Knoebels are both full Wed-Sunday through August, Frontier town has 2 choices, next week, Monday through Friday or The week school starts. Neither of them is an option.

I called Lake Glory and they told me if I wanted to camp Sunday to Friday all I had to do was show up, they have loads of sites (Lake Glory has the electric suitable for AC if needed). I put my vacation in for 8-11 to 8-15, not that Iwill be there the whole time. So Tracy, if you are in the area, Sunday 8-10 (afternoon) up until Wed or Thurs, you are welcome to stop by. It will be just me and Jeffrey as Raymond cannot get off. Plus Lake Glory is over $20.00 cheaper per night...guess I had better stock up on the Caritin D for this trip...again. Then again, he may want Cherrystone...can never tell with kids.

SheBantamPaula we are leaving on the 14th to go camping in NY state, but we should be able to visit you at Knoebels during your stay.  Let me know the details when you figure them out.
