RE: Gag Gift for DW s 50th.

OK, guys!  I need some help here!
 DW is hitting the big " FIVE-OH"  the middle of next month.  I m getting her a nice gift plus me and our two kiddos have a surprise party planned at one of our favorite eateries.  Everybody is suppose to bring a gag gift in keeping with a 50th. birthday.  I guess I ve been too busy planning because for the life of me, I can t come up with a thing!!!

How about going to an auction -- we were at one over the weekend and they had a walker and a cane that no one wanted -- could have picked both up for $1.00.  Also, you can check a yard sale.[][][]

   I got the wife when she turned the big five O a ribbon diamond ring with five half carts in between five wraps of the ribbon. Took two years to pay fo it, but it is hers now.. Just a thought....you only hit 50 once, but you have to make it,right..
 
 If you want to use it a gag gift, bring it back to the store.. Now that is a gag!

 Thanks for asking.  It didn t even occur to me that any one would remember!
 
 Actually, it was outstanding!  My daughter, son and myself pulled off a great surpise party with a number of our friends there.  At one point about a week before the party I was afraid that DW had caught wind of what we were up to.  Not so!  She was totally surprised and ended up weeping on her best friends shoulder a bit.
 
 There were a number of great gag gifts but the best really wasn t a gag.  A friend printed up and framed a poem about women getting older and how they think of themselves as they do.  Seems as women age, according to this poem, they quite worrying about how they look what others think.  By 80, " ...she just puts on her purple hat and goes out and has fun with the world!"  (A close quotation).  The last line talks about how we should all find our purple hat sooner.  The framed poem came with a purple hat.  VERY nice gift.
 
 Got to say it really was an outstanding time and DW has talked about it all week!  I enjoyed it myself!  Think I ll do that one again only I ll throw her off by doing it on her 59th. or 61st.  Ain t I a little stinker?[8D]
