 Hi All,

I have a 2000 Viking Epic.  I would like to put a bicycle rack on the top.  Any suggestions or problems with these racks.

 Thanks for the help

stardate10I emailed Viking and  they sent a picture of how the factory rack attaches. Just need to attach it the same way. You may want to post in the Manufacturers Forum and ask ZERK

stardate10I have a roof rack with 4 bike trays on the roof of my Coleman PU.  The only down side is that I need to use a 2 step ladder to reach the 2 inside bike trays.

stardate10Here is an alternative to the roof mount.  A new Duel Extension, and then I can use my old rack.

stardate10They are nice and can be an easy solution to the bike in the hitch problem with the following cautions. Moving the hitch back on an extension will multiply the effect of the tongue weight on the TV axles. It creates a longer lever arm and can cause sway where none would be with out the extension. The bike rack and bikes will further agrevate the problem.
Also if using a WD hitch it must be reset as you ve changed the geometry and weights it was set up for.
IMHO only use this on class III or IV hitches. Class II hitches with a 2 inch receiver and their 3500/350 rating limits make it to easy to go over the tongue limit with the additional weight and leverage.
