 Tom, do you mean the intersection around Rt-131 ? The one with Honey Dew shop and a couple of weird roads comming togather??
 

 There is a Honeydew, but it s 138...and 139...and 27...and Park Street, and Pearl Street, and Wyman Street, and Freeman Street, and Railroad Ave, and Porter Street.
 
 Picture two 5-road intersections with a 100 foot 3-1/2 lane connector.  The connector is hourglass shaped, with two additional streets entering at the narrowest point.  Now line both sides with parallel parking.  Some streets have STOP signs, but some conflicting ones do not.  Some are " No Left Turn" , but that is regularly ignored.  Traffic often backs up badly when the commuter trains arrive.  You know, the ones that are supposed to relieve traffic?
 
 Now fill that with tired commuters when the local interstate is jammed, and you have...Stoughton Square!
 
 I used to ride the train with a state traffic engineer.  He said they spent years trying to solve the problem, including traffic lights, overpasses, tunnels, and one-way roads.  Everything they tried (on paper) made things worse.

Another Mass thing....The YIELD SIGN...and what could it mean? What are your versions of YIELD? Just jump on without looking and let the big truck hit the little bump? Or figure you now own the highway so just move over and let me in even though you can t because someone is passing you so you have to slam on your breaks. I agree about MA. drivers...must have been a special on licenses at a great dept. store that year. I hear ya and have lived here all my life. Then there are the people who............[]
